a heros consequences
this entire thing needs soo much editing akfjajdj but just got to put it Somewhere for now
.
Technically, someone was always trying to 'get' the hero. It was how /being/ a hero had to work.
But, as Tails glanced over his shoulder for the upteenth time to make sure his brother was still stretched out on the sofa at the side of the workshop, despite the 'hero lifestyle', there were very few /real/ close calls with morality that haunted his dreams.
And this was going to now be one of them.
Tails exhaled shakily, forcing himself to turn back to the computer he sat in front of. He had patched sonic up best he could when they got back from the caved in factory, ignoring the weaker than usual protests against care. It wasn't like anything Sonic could say would erase the memory of him inches out of tails' grasp hitting the shallow water and immediately being lit up with what was easily lethal doses of electricity even without the lightshow and screaming of pain as surge advanced unflinching through the crackling--
The fox forcefully shook his body slightly to stop the scene from continuing in his mind. His eyes flicked from the main program he was /trying/ to work on as a distraction to the bottom left of his screen, where he'd brought up the built in link to his communication devices - though they did much more than just work as Comms. Ever concerned about his friends' wellbeing both in and out of adventures, each device had several distinct features, with the currently opened one a screen of tracking vitals.
It was one of the only things stopping him from curling up right next to his brother with an ear close enough to hear any changes in breathing or heartbeat that would indicate the slightest hint of something potentially deadly wrong. There was work to be done, so instead Tails had swallowed as much fear as he could and left Sonic to rest physically, while immediately bringing the vitals program up on the computer and pinning it to the corner before even starting to try and find something useful to work on. Still, despite its several built in alarms for various states and statistics, his gaze kept sliding to the numbers, double checking for any arrhythmia or drop in stats. Anything that would be the only input he needed to drop everything and take his brother to an actual hospital or something so someone /else/ who knew better could tell him that it would be okay, electricity didn't mess with people's heart rates or anything, doesn't mess with your brain's signals, isn't as deadly as lighting in thunderstorms…
A nearby creak made Tails jump an embarrassing amount, and he quickly gritted his teeth against the shock and thoughts that kept crowding him. He was fine. Sonic was fine. They escaped. It was over. For now, at least.
He glanced at the clock on the wall that suddenly sounded obnoxiously loud. It was almost time to wake Sonic anyway. Given the electrocution and recent beating, he would need a lot of rest, but concern about how hard he had hit one of the tanks - hard enough to /crack/ it on inpact when surge hit him back with metal - with his head, leaving a noticeable mark, Tails had quickly decided that being shaken awake every hour or so was more important to avoid coma complications from head trauma than sleeping off probable broken ribs was.
Quietly, he slipped out of his chair, glad at least for something that needed him to physically move, and padded over to his brother's back that faced him on the sofa.
Sonic looked asleep, but a frown on his face and crossed arms even with his body half curled into the pillows suggested it wasn't a pain-free rest. Tails worried his lip as he slowly reached out to carefully shake the available shoulder, making sure not to get pricked by any quills.
"Sonic? Can you hear me? I just need to check your eyes."
Despite keeping his voice soft, Tails shook the hedgehog slightly more firmly when there wasn't a real response, until Sonic groaned and half rolled towards the interruption, managing to squint open an eye after several blinks.
"Mm? Tails? Wha's up?"
His words were slightly slurred, but Tails was happy to chalk that up to exhaustion without further evidence of serious injury, and he gave an encouraging smile as he raised a small torch in his other hand into sonics sight.
"Cmon, you know the drill," he cajoled, trying for a more casual tone, "both eyes open for a second. Up and at 'em."
Sonic groaned with slightly more lucidity, and slowly opened his other eye, still half squinting in the dim workshop light. Tails quickly clicked on his tool and carefully watched as pupils sluggishly followed it to one side, slowly shrinking against the close brightness. Tails switched off the torch with a hum.
"Slightly better," he allowed, watching as sonic grumbled and screwed his eyes shut in an attempt to reset his now spotlighted vision. "Do you know where we are?" Tails pressed, ignoring the huff in reply.
"Workshop," sonic mumbled after a beat.
"That'll do," Tails allowed only slightly reluctantly. Precise location could come later. "What's your name?"
This time sonic slipped open an eye again to offer a disbelieving look. "Sonic the hedgehog," he replied with a hint of bemusement and clearer than the last answers.
Tails smirked at the attention, mood slightly lifted by a show of his brother's usual humour. "Just gotta make sure that tussle with metal didn't knock anything important around, big bro," he responded with the smirk.
Sonic huffed again, but it was more of amusement this time. Tails' grin faded into a more sincere smile.
"Did you need anything else? Hows the leg?"
"Eh. Still healing. It'll get there," sonic replied tonelessly, almost subconsciously tucking the rebandaged limb more into himself as he already started to shift in facing the back of the sofa comfortably again, tiredness quickly pulling him back under. The amusement slipped away as Tails watched the hedgehog flinch when the right side of his face touched the sofa cushions again, the covered injury from hitting the tank still sore of sudden pressure.
Tails grimaced in concern at the clear signs of a fight on his older brother. Fur was sticking up in wrong directions, dotted with blood here and there, and small gashes littered the blue body. Some were hidden under square plasters pressed against skin on his limbs and head. Neither of them were unpractised at treating the odd visible injury, but this…
It was a lot. It was a real close call. The physical injuries, the electrocution, the water damage, the /finger marks/ around his neck--
Surge had really been trying to kill him. Trying to /end his life/ to gain her freedom, as she put it.
They all liked to give benefit of the doubt. That was another thing heroes did. But there was no mistaking someone's intentions when Tails was mere metres above, watching in horror as she simultaneously tried to electrocute and strangle and drown in an attempt to /kill/ while he could do /nothing/.
His own slight knock to the head had made their escape a little fuzzy after helping sonic out the water, so consumed with fear and worry he couldnt articulate more than /oh my gosh/ even as his brother tried to put on a shaky smile and make a joke about the water.
But he remembered gripping the metal bar, his fingers strong next to sonic's slipping grasp, helping his brother over the last edge, glaring at eggman together, and then trudging out of the collapsed factory. Adrenaline had began to wear off, clearer on sonic as his trembling escalated to shaking only minutes into their walk away from the city. They had left the tornado just outside of it, barely half an hour away even at a normal pace, but when sonic stumbled so bad he had to lean heavily against a tree to keep from collapsing, breathing harshly with a hand pressed to his chest, tails had thrown concealing his concern to the wind and pulled the hedhogs free arm around his shoulders, getting a good grip before quickly flying them forward so sonics feet barely touched the ground.
His mind had raced between the restoration, a hospital, maybe shadow or chaos emeralds themselves as he got them back to the plane with his brothers pained grunts and uneven breaths in one ear, wondering if the sound were so unusual that they could be classed as /dying/ noises worthy of some emergency reaction--
It wasn't until he was trying to bundle sonic into the back seat of the tornado that he had realised he was being talked to.
"'m okay, Tails. Just a bit…" Sonic tried to take a deep inhale, as shaky as it sounded, in an attempt to calm his little brother's impossibly wide eyes, "a bit out of breath," he admitted, clumsily patting Tails' grip on his shoulder in what was hopefully reassurance.
It didn't feel that much better to get acknowledgment of /struggle/, unfortunately.
Tails did pause though, trying to slow his panicked thoughts down enough to take in his brother's state - bruised and battered, yes, but alive. His breathing was still slightly forced, and there was a lazy drop of blood clinging to a small wound just under one slightly torn ear, but he was talking and conscious, and the trembling had calmed to the occasional shiver.
"Does it hurt?" Tails asked, realising he had yet to reply, eyes still wide on smudged red mixed in with blue fur.
Sonic grimaced for a second before raising an eyebrow. "Anything in particular you're talking about?"
"Is it hard to breathe? Do you need medical help? I can call someone at the restoration, or, or knuckles could come get us--"
"Tails, hey, it's okay. I'm--" Unfortunately the attempted reassurance was again ruined as sonic coughed and wheezed for a second, retreating the hand he tried to place on Tails' shoulder to cover his face.
Catching his breath, he managed a shaky but sure smile, and Tails finally felt some of the blind fear fall away.
"Let's just go home, kid. I could do with a nap, at least."
So Tails had nodded numbly and made sure his brother was strapped in and safe before settling himself into the seat in front and automatically starting their way back.
.
Which led to now. Where sonic was still banged up, still shaky in body, and definitely exhausted everywhere.
Tails looked down at his brother quickly slipping back into sleep after being woken for coherence. This really had been a close call. Too close.
Aside from his already injured ankle and knee, his ear had been daubed with cream along with the small head wound underneath, and several scrapes disinfected and covered. It was the internal damage that was the most worrying.
But no alarms had gone off still, and when Tails hesitantly pulled himself away from the sofa to head back to the computer, his gaze immediately watched the vitals monitor calmly measure what would usually be an alarmingly fast rate, but for sonic it read as natural, even slightly slow in his rest.
The only arrhythmic movements reported was a slight jump when there was a sudden ringing as tails sat down, making him startle aswell.
Quickly, he answered the communicator call. "Hello?"
"Tails! Thank goodness. Whisper said you'd gone to get her wisps, so when they came back alone, she came to ask if we'd seen you, but no one had- wait, is sonic with you?"
It took a moment for Amy's voice to register and then its content to sink in enough for a reply.
"Oh, um, yeah, we're both here," he managed, pausing to remember what Amy had started with. "Oh, they went straight back, I should have figured," he realised. Granted, he had been half out of his mind with fright that sonic was imminently dying at the time, so it was possible he lost track of the wisps that had left the factory with them before disappearing at some point.
There was a sigh of relief and muffled talking in the background. Tails' gaze went back to sonic who shifted slightly on the sofa.
Amy's voice returned, "As long as you're both safe. Are you heading back now then?"
Innocent enough question, but even the thought of being anywhere but /home/ (or the closest thing they'd ever had to it) right now after such an experience put a lump in his throat. He swallowed.
"We're staying here," he replied, knowing it lacked information by the hesitant silence on the other end. "Sonic's…" The stress of the day, and the last few days, was catching up, tears beginning to threaten to breed. "She went after him, Amy," he half whispered, tone dropping as if speaking it quietly made it less real. "She was trying to- she wanted to /get/ him."
For once, Amy did not demand details or panic about injury. There was something in the fox's voice that kept hers as quiet as though calm.
"Okay. Okay. Do you need medical help?" She asked, background fading as she assumingly sought privacy for the conversation. "How bad is it?"
"I… I've done what I can," Tails rubbed an arm over his face despite its dryness, refusing to let that change. "And I'm monitoring him. He, uh, said that there was some numbness, sort of tingling in his hands, but I think I can. Well, I'm. I'm watching out for anything. He'll be okay."
It felt like more reassurance to himself rather than for someone who didn't know the situation, but Tails couldn't bring himself to care that much. Electrocution couldn't be messed with - he'd had enough accidental shocks with inventions to know that if nothing else. He wasn't an expert, but neither was he clueless. It would be enough.
There were a few more quiet but persistently vague details exchanged, before Amy made him promise to check in later and Tails did his best to actually focus on the computer programme to make some progress for some time.
A glance at the clock next showed another hour had passed recently. Surprised but grateful that he had actually managed to get work done for a good amount of time, Tails stretched and clicked on the still linked communicator window; in the longest gap yet between checking it, the report showed vitals were stabilising well and already resembling more normal baselines that they had never been /that/ far off.
More residual fear slipping off his shoulders, Tails sighed out a deep breath and glanced at the sofa only once before shuffling out the room into the kitchen, returning less than a minute later with a mug of juice and heading to his brother's sleeping form.
"Sonic. Hey."
This time the hedgehog reacted at the first tapping of his shoulder, groaning before shuffling to push himself up slightly as he turned around. "This again? Already?" He grumbled without heat, nevertheless keeping his eyes half open to eye his little brother grumpily.
Tails gave a half sympathetic smile. "Indulge a little brother's worries," he wheelded, but the tone was only half teasing. "Do you remember where you are?"
"Workshop. I'm sonic the hedgehog and my brother is a genius that needs to sleep more because he clearly doesn't know how it's meant to work."
Sonic stuck out his tongue slightly and Tails wouldve been worried it was lingering muscle spasms if not for the certain glint in his brother's eye that wasn't there before. Playing along, he raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? So you /don't/ want this juice? Waking up tomorrow with a dehydration headache is how to /properly/ sleep?" He retorted, no bite whatsoever to the teasing words.
Their eyes met for a moment in a typical sibling standoff. Then sonic chuckled and carefully pushed himself out a little more. Tails grinned and offered the mug when he was appropriately reclined more upright than flat, enough to drink the liquid without choking on it and causing more unecesary drama for the day.
"Thanks, tails," sonic murmured as he carefully took the mug in both hands and sipped with it close to his face, a barely visible trembling passing through the grip occasionally. Tails purses his lips.
"How's your hands?" He asked quietly, crouching down slightly so not to be looming above his brother. "Are they any less tingly?"
Sonic took another sip as he considered, turning one of them over in thought. "Not as numb," he agreed. Tails sighed in relief.
"That's good. Any dizziness or nausea? Does your chest hurt?"
After taking another sip, sonic shook his head slightly. "Just feelin' a bit drained, 's all," he smiled, and it was only slightly off.
Regardless, tails smiled back, a lot more relaxed than his previous run through of questions. He waited for sonic to drink about half the juice before offering to take the mug from trembling hands. sonic accepted and yawned, stretching his arms by his sides as tails put the mug down nearby and turned back to the sofa.
"Do you want anything else, or-" Tails started, only to be interrupted by a hand on one arm.
"I want /you/," sonic tugged slightly, making tails fall in a controlled manner down next to him on the sofa, "to relax, buddy. I'm safe. You're here. We're okay now."
As he reassured, sonic lightly moved his hands through yellow fur, ruffling the kit's head affectionately. Tails tried not to melt into the touch too much and put him off.
Still, it wasn't quite enough to calm the dread that had clenched into a ball in his chest ever since he saw the cubes disappear under his brother's feet with only water and danger waiting hungrily below. The way he flew down after him, their fingers centremetres apart when he landed, the shallow water barely softening the hard fall against stone and nothing blocking out the scream that followed when electricity surged through the liquid and seized his body.
Tails found himself the one to shiver now, the memory still horrifyingly fresh even as physically he could feel sonics arm draped around his shoulders, a little too tight to be completely casual.
He glanced to the side, meeting his brother's wary eyes. "I just…" He began without being sure how to phrase what he was feeling. Sonic nodded anyway.
"I know, bud. It's been a lot."
And that was all there was to say, in the end. Tails leaned against the warm solid form of his brother, and sonic sighed slowly, letting his aching body rest against the soft sofa, holding his little brother closer than usual. A hero's work was never easy, and it was never done. He did it because he wanted to, mostly. But at times like this, when the one out to get them had almost succeeded, it struck a stark reminder of mortality in such a lifestyle.
Still, they suffered close calls before. There was no time to look back, and it was not in sonic the hedgehog's interests to /dwell/ on what ifs. No matter how unclear things seemed, moving forward was the only option he was willing to take.
They were together, and alive, and /that/ was what mattered. Sonic tightened his grip to press his little brother against him for a moment, drawing comfort and courage equally from the contact. Tails glanced up at him with slight confusion, but didn't say anything. He smiled and it was only a small bit off.
"It's good, little bro," he nudged the kid affectionately to draw a giggle and his own smile felt more natural. "It'll be just fine."

warnings: none. crosshair ovethinks a lot
Another request! Maybe not technically a request, but @starrylothcat sent in an ask for an ask prompt and said it would be nice to see me write a fic where crosshair buys a gift for the reader for their birthday or christmas and it's been stuck in my head since! so here you go! i hope i did it justice!
also posted this on ao3. feedback is welcomed, reblogs are appreciated <3
Crosshair didn’t like crowds. He gritted his teeth as he walked alone through the market on Sorgan, sidestepping people as they entered his path. It was noisy, but that didn’t bother him so much. Vendors called out to passersby, promoting their various goods for purchase with enthusiasm. Voices chattered and laughed. The smell of food wafted through Crosshair’s nose and his stomach tightened with hunger. Rations were poor choices compared to the sizzling of flavourful meat on grills, but he didn’t have enough credits to buy himself something to eat.
He only had enough to buy something for you.
He had been helping Tech with cataloguing files when he saw one on their nat-born medic. You had joined Clone Force 99 just over half a standard cycle ago with your plucky yet kind attitude, falling into the group dynamic easier than Crosshair had thought. Sure, it had taken some adjustment for him and his brothers to become used to another presence they had not grown up with, but it was inevitable you would eventually find your place in the team. You were hardworking, strong and compassionate. You paid attention to each of his brothers, giving them your undivided focus during conversation and indulging them in questions about what they were doing or their chosen skill. He had watched you talk with Tech about data decryption, Wrecker about proton-based explosives, Hunter about tracking strategies, Echo about ARC trooper training, and of course, him about sharpshooting.
He recalled the way you sat next to him for the first time on his bunk during their time in Hyperspace. He had disassembled part of his Firepuncher rifle, readjusting the scope and the barrel after it had unexpectedly jammed on their previous mission. He’d been annoyed – his prized weapon never faltered, and he was trying to figure out why it had failed on him when the thin mattress dipped next to him, and you asked what he was doing. When he’d given a particularly surly response, you nodded and then just continued to watch him. His eyes had slid to you.
“Can I help you with anything else?” He hadn’t meant it to sound so icy, but he had been frustrated with this rifle, with himself.
“Can you…explain what you’re doing?” you had asked hopefully.
He had looked at you sceptically. “Why?”
You just shrugged. “It looks interesting.”
He had studied your expression, trying to discern if you were being genuine. But you were. You always were with things like this.
So, he explained what he was doing, answered your questions and by the time his weapon was fixed, he didn’t even really remember his initial annoyance. You had smiled at him, your mouth stretching in a way that made your eyes light up. He felt a little flicker of something in his stomach before it was promptly extinguished.
Since then, you have spent time with him like that more often. Not just when he was cleaning his rifle, but other things. Like throwing Lula back and forth across the bunks as you both talked, joking about things that happened on missions. Sharing looks over briefings. Stealing Wrecker’s snacks.
But his favourite time with you was drawing on your datapad and trying to guess what the other was drawing. He had learnt you liked to draw and enjoyed drawing out something other than a medical diagram. He felt a sense of pride in making you laugh so hard you cried with his silly caricatures during long hyperspace trips. Exaggerated doodles of his brothers, tookas and the like, a portrait of you with a funny expression. You liked to draw him with a smile too big for his face, chuckling as you drew and then collapsing into laughter when you showed him. It always made the thing in his stomach flicker.
He really liked having you around.
So, when he came across your file when helping Tech, he couldn’t help but open it. You had told them all any information they had asked for, and information they had not. There wasn’t really anything you kept secret. But when he saw your ID holo looking particularly embarrassing: with wide eyes and a half-formed expression – like you were taken off guard by the photo, the corner of his mouth twisted up in an impish smirk.
He had intended to tease you about it; set the holo to the show on every Marauder screen so it was everywhere.
He opened the file to take a copy of the holo when he spotted details about your age and date of birth.
He frowned at the date. “Tech, what is today’s galactic date?”
Tech looked up from his datapad, adjusting his goggles before rattling off the date. “Why?”
He said your name before telling him, “It’s their birthday tomorrow.”
“Oh.” Tech blinked.
Age and birthdays were almost foreign concepts to clones. With accelerated aging and growing in a capsule, they didn’t really matter to them. Awkward to calculate, they weren’t celebrated. Crosshair had no idea when he had been ‘birthed’ or decanted, and if the Kaminoans documented such dates, then it was classified information. He knew his chronological age, but his biological age was a little murky. He knew he was a “mature clone”, however with the accelerated aging, he didn’t know where exactly he stood. None of their brothers knew any of these details. It was normal for them.
He read the date and your age. What would it be like to be so sure of something like that? To be sure of the parts that made up who you were?
Crosshair cleared his throat and closed the file without even copying the ID holo. He frowned to himself. Maybe he should’ve asked you about it before, but birthdays weren’t a part of his world, so he hadn’t thought to. But they were important to nat-borns, weren’t they? At least that’s what they’d all been told during their training modules.
When he lay in his bunk that night, he circled his mind for all he knew about birthday traditions. Gatherings. Food. Gifts. Would you like all that? Did you like all that? You seemed like you would. He didn’t know if it was something he would enjoy if he had a birthday…it didn’t really seem like his thing, but maybe he would. He would never know. He thought that Wrecker might be the only one who would enjoy a birthday. Maybe Echo too if you did it right. Same with Hunter.
But you hadn’t said anything about your birthday.
He had tossed and turned. You were part of their squad. You cared. Listened. Laughed. Did you not feel you could share the date with them? He didn’t know, and a part of him felt a little hurt that you might not feel you could. Were you not friends? Crosshair didn’t have many friends, but he knew they were supposed to tell each other things.
He turned again, crossing his arms against his chest as he faced the wall. Why did he even care? If you didn’t want to tell him it was your birthday, fine. He wouldn’t mention it.
He squeezed his eyes shut before sitting up on his elbows and craned his head to see you sleeping in your bunk. Through the darkness, his enhanced eyes saw you curled in yourself, and your nose twitched as you breathed deep and evenly. Something in his chest pinched. He sighed before laying back down and pulling the thin blanket over his head.
Now, as he found himself in this market the next day, he wondered what he was even doing here.
Once they had landed on Sorgan, they completed their mission easily with no complications. But Crosshair was still distracted by your birthday. You hadn’t even said anything when everyone woke up this morning. Just acted like it was any other day. You had just smiled at him as you tucked into a ration bar, saying good morning before throwing one to him to eat.
It puzzled him.
When you all started walking back to the Marauder after the mission, Hunter could tell something was up with him, nudging his shoulder.
“You alright?”
Crosshair had scowled at his brother. “…Yes.”
“You look deep in thought,” Hunter pointed out, falling into step with him.
Crosshair broke his gaze and looked away, back towards where they came, to the village they had just liberated. The thought had barely formed before he said, “Do we have time before the next mission?”
Hunter’s surprise showed in his voice. “We have a couple of hours, why?”
“I’ll be back later,” Crosshair walked off in the direction of the village before Hunter could say anything. His long legs carried him to the marketplace, where he stood now amongst the bustling bodies.
He just couldn’t get your birthday out of his stupid head; that you hadn’t said anything because clones didn’t celebrate birthdays. Just because he didn’t understand them, doesn’t mean he couldn’t try…for you.
He started combing through the vendors, most of which were finishing up resetting their stands after they fled suddenly several days prior. He moved from stall to stall, gazing at the different items over people's heads. Kriff, what were you even supposed to buy people for birthdays? Something they needed? Something they wanted? It was all a little overwhelming. And Crosshair didn’t get overwhelmed.
“Looking for something in particular, my friend?”
Crosshair startled and looked up to see the vendor, a greying man with a wrinkled face, horns protruding from his forehead and curled up in an elegant spiral shape.
Crosshair frowned, clearing his throat. “It’s…my friend's birthday today.”
The man’s face lit up. “Wonderful! Birthdays are special.”
Crosshair’s mouth tightened as the man continued to speak. “What were you thinking of gifting them?”
The hairs on Crosshair’s neck stood up with nerves. “I…I don’t know.”
The man’s face lit up. “Perhaps I can help.”
The man then went through the different items at his stand. He held up scarves, strings of beads, and handmade pottery. Crosshair thought they were all nice enough, but he wasn’t swimming in credits. And none of the items really felt like you. The vendor was patient, more patient than he should’ve been. Either he really wanted to help or was desperate for a sale in a competitive marketplace.
After many minutes and many items, Crosshair felt himself gradually stiffening, becoming more and more on edge and uncomfortable. He felt so out of his depth. He was always so sure of everything, and trying to do this thing he had no experience in, made him more vulnerable than he had in a long time. It was not a feeling he felt comfortable with. Never had been.
And as much as he liked you, maybe this was all a stupid idea. You hadn’t mentioned your birthday for a reason. He shouldn’t bring it up. If he did, he’d have to explain how he found out…and he didn’t want to go through that awkwardness. He was about to open his mouth and tell the over-enthusiastic vendor: thank you, but he wouldn’t bother with a gift, when the vendor clapped his hands loudly, making Crosshair jump.
“I may have something back here, hold on,” he said as he turned away to rifle noisily through a crate behind him.
Crosshair felt his fist curl at his sides, and this should’ve been his opening to slide away unnoticed until he looked down and saw a brown leather book. Crosshair halted and lifted a gloved hand to the soft worn cover, running his fingers over the engravings in the bound leather. He opened the cover, seeing it was a blank notebook, and it had a writing implement tucked into the spine. Not many people recorded things the traditional way anymore; datapads were much more efficient and stored more information than the pages of a notebook. He flicked through the pages, fanning them with his thumb. The dust drifted up and it was a smell he didn’t recognise, but he supposed it was the smell of paper.
“That’s a good choice.”
Crosshair retracted his hand as if he was a cadet being scolded, and looked up at the vendor, who held an oversized pot that would break the second it came aboard the Marauder.
“That would be a perfect gift,” the vendor continued, nodding at the notebook.
Crosshair looked at him before picking up the notebook – more surely this time, and turned it over in his hands. He imagined you in your bunk, scribbling in it at night with a torch in one hand. He imagined you keeping it under your pillow for safekeeping. He imagined you doodling in it, showing him your drawings with that smile on your face. He imagined drawing in it with you. The corner of his mouth twitched upward.
“How much?” Crosshair asked.
“It’s yours.”
Crosshair’s head snapped towards the vendor. “What?”
The vendor waved him away. “Take it.”
Crosshair blinked, confused. “…I have to pay you.”
“No, you don’t. I’ve been trying to sell that for years. You’d be doing me a favour.”
Crosshair furrowed his brow. “…Isn’t the customer supposed to be right?”
The vendor barked out a laugh. “Not this time, my friend.”
Crosshair dug into his pocket anyway and pulled out half the credits. “For your patience…at least.”
The vendor chuckled and took them. “Thank you. I hope your friend likes it.”
Crosshair didn’t respond as the man turned away, placing the pot down before calling out to other marketgoers, trying to entice them.
Crosshair walked back through the market, the notebook feeling heavy in his hand. Leaving the village, he made his way back to the Marauder, thoughts swimming in his head.
Kriff, what if you hated it? Or thought it was stupid? What if all his knowledge on birthdays was completely inaccurate and you would think him strange for giving you something? Or what if you just thought he was weird for getting you something at all?
Crosshair’s grip on the notebook tightened. He just wanted to do something nice. Like you always did for them. But this is why he avoided it. It was so vulnerable being nice. Being nice left you open for hurt, open for aching. It was much easier to keep it at bay, to restrict it. To hide it behind actions inconspicuously where it wasn’t out in the open. Being so open with it for you…he wouldn’t admit it out loud, but it scared him. The doubt crept in. Crosshair had conviction and confidence, and he wasn’t used to it wavering like this.
He was just about ready to throw the notebook into a bush and never speak of it again when he heard your voice ring out from the steps of the Marauder.
“Crosshair!”
You placed your datapad down and ran over to him. He hid the notebook behind his back with both hands, gripping it so hard he knew his knuckles would be white as you approached him with a smile.
“Hey,” he said, hoping he sounded normal.
“Where’d you go? You disappeared after the mission.”
“I was just…looking for something,” he said carefully. Dank farrik, how was he supposed to do this? He thought he might just leave it on your bunk when you were distracted with a little note written inside the cover saying, ‘Happy Birthday’. That way he could avoid your reaction when you saw it. He didn’t even know how to get into the Marauder with it now that you were here in front of him.
You tilted your head with a quizzical smile. “Looking for something?”
Crosshair nodded. “I couldn’t find it,” he lied.
“Oh…okay,” you looked at him weirdly. Would you look at him like that when you saw his gift?
Crosshair nodded to the Marauder, desperate to get on board and stow the notebook away until he could leave it on your bunk. “Should we go inside?”
You looked at him, narrowing your eyes. “What are you hiding?”
“I’m not hiding anything, meshurok,” he lied, his grip tightening again.
“Yes, you are,” you sidestepped him to look behind him and he leapt out of the way. You grinned. “You are! What are you hiding, Cross? Why can’t I see?” you tried to chase him around, but Crosshair kept angling himself away. Kriff, he had never felt so stupid in his whole life.
“It’s nothing. Get your meddling hands away from me, you di’kut,” he walked backwards in a circle, his face and neck hot.
“Crosshair,” you chided, smiling at him. “Come on, is it really that bad?”
“Go away,” he grumbled, hands aching from holding the damned notebook so tight.
“Crosshair,” you said his name again, and your face was stretched in that playful grin that he’d unwillingly memorised. That thing in his stomach flickered again.
Then he remembered how you didn’t tell him about your birthday. And how you were friends, but you didn’t say anything about it. And how he had this unexplainable feeling he couldn’t name sitting in his stomach that compelled him to go to a village market and pick out a stupid gift for a birthday tradition he didn’t even understand just to do something nice for you the way you did for him and his brothers.
Crosshair’s expression flared and he shoved the notebook at your chest. You startled at your hand came up to grab it, sliding against his like a searing snake. He pulled his hand back and balled both at his sides as he gritted out, “Happy birthday.”
All he saw was your eyes were wide before he stalked off, almost stomping his way to the Marauder. His face burned, and embarrassment flooded his body. He felt so stupid, and he hated feeling stupid. He hated the feeling of being on the end of someone’s judgement. He hated knowing that he’d just been forced to make himself vulnerable. But mostly, he hated the feeling of you not trusting him with what was supposed to be the important parts of you.
“Crosshair!”
Your voice came from behind him, but he didn’t turn around. He was already planning different ways he could avoid you. He was going to lock himself in the ‘fresher until the next mission and make sure Hunter placed him on watch at opposite times to you. Whatever it took. His heart panged. You were one of the only people outside his brothers he liked. He would mourn the shared jokes and laughter, and time spent with you, knowing it couldn’t happen anymore.
“Crosshair, wait.”
He felt a hand on his arm pull him back. He swayed backwards, but he let you stop him. He avoided your gaze, scowl burning an outline in his brow as he stared off into the middle distance. Your hand stayed on his arm, and he felt it through the plastoid wrapped around his forearm, squeezing him there. It felt like part of him, and that made him feel both warm with content and spiked with anger simultaneously.
“Cross, please look at me,” your voice said quietly, and his heart squeezed. He slowly moved his gaze, looking down, then sliding his eyes to your bare hand on his arm before they lifted to your face. Your brows were slanted downwards, looking at him with such softness in your eyes he felt the flickering in his chest again.
“How did you…” your voice was soft and trailed off, notebook in your other hand.
“It doesn’t matter,” he dismissed with gritted words.
He felt your hand flex with your grip. “It does to me.”
He studied your face carefully before saying, “…I was helping Tech with cataloguing his files. I saw your birthday in yours.”
You continued looking at him with an indecipherable gaze and moved your hand slowly from his arm to his wrist, your bare fingertips brushing his gloves. You gently grazed his fingers as you let his hand drop softly. He watched you as you inspected the book, hands turning it over, fanning through the pages. He studied your expression, trying to discern what you thought, feeling anxiety grow in his stomach, his throat tightening. He felt something hot poke inside him as he watched your mouth turn up into a smile as you gazed at his gift.
“I’ve been so busy this year that I forgot about my birthday.”
Crosshair hoped he hid his surprise. You not telling him about your birthday…it was never about him. Of course, you had forgotten. The past six cycles had been a whirlwind for you trying to adjust to a soldier’s lifestyle, countless missions and trying to fit in with his brothers. His face burned again. He was a fool.
You looked up at him, a smirk itching the corners of your mouth. “Been too busy keeping you boys in line.”
Crosshair scoffed lightly, letting a puff of breath out of his nose. Your smile widened.
“This is a beautiful gift, Cross. Thank you for getting it for me,” you place your hand on his arm again, squeezing gently to show your appreciation He felt his heart lift and his cheeks redden, but this time, not in embarrassment.
He nodded at you. “I’m…glad you like it. I don’t have much experience with birthdays.”
Your smile touched the edges of your eyes. “That’s what makes it even more special.”
You reached up on your tip toes and wrapped your arms around his neck, embracing him. Crosshair stiffened in shock and surprise before he slowly wrapped his arms around your torso. His fingers grazed your sides, and there was something wildly comforting about holding you like this. He could feel the side of your face pressed into his neck, just below his ear, and your breath tickled the sliver of open skin not covered by his blacks. You were so warm. He felt you squeeze him gently and he didn’t stop himself from squeezing back.
You were his best friend, after all.
You pulled away, but not before you cupped his face and placed a kiss on his cheek. Crosshair flinched and his eyes widened as you lowered yourself back down on flat feet with one of the most joyful smiles he’d ever seen gracing your face. The action had surprised him more than anything else had.
“I’m going to show everyone what you got me,” you said before running off towards the Marauder.
“No, don’t, they’ll—” Crosshair started but you were already halfway up the gangplank. His brothers’ teasing was going to be ruthless.
He sighed, shaking his head before following you, that thing flickering in his chest. He didn’t understand it, but he didn’t try to extinguish it.

mando'a / meshurok = gemstone thank you for reading! i did find this one slightly challenging bc it's very much crosshair in his head and i tried to write him how i thought he would react to a situation like this, but if it's a little OOC, i apologise! but i think he would react like this if someone he cared about didn't tell him something important about them; someone who was his friend and who he liked very much. i think he'd be kinda mad and hurt but he cares too much to not do anything at all. i have more gen requests on the way, so stay tuned if you're interested! <3

𝒥𝒥𝒦 𝑀𝐸𝒩 𝒲𝐼𝒯𝐻 𝒮𝒜𝒩𝑅𝐼𝒪 𝒢𝐼𝑅𝐿𝐹𝑅𝐼𝐸𝒩𝒟𝒮 x black fems! ⤷ content: just a lot of fluff really and some suggestive stuff but nothing descriptive. itadori & megumi are aged up to 18 (to seem more exclusive since i think you can imagine them like this at anytime), but it’s all for fluff reasons. Merry Christmas ❤️💚🤍
signed mumu . . . just fun hdcs with our favorite jjk men, some suggestive content, but nothing overly descriptive. any kind of support is appreciated buns <3 @hoori @ifuckslasherz @scarfac3 @sukuette @pekejs @yeagersex | banner credit to @cafekitsune
itadori with a hello kitty girlfriend
❤︎ we saw this coming, what can i say two main characters belong together. you both enjoy being out all the time, whether that’s just spending time with each or friends. just being out and about with each other.
❤︎ a lot of times people like to think itadori doesn’t have a girlfriend when he mentions he does have one. the way he goes on and on to brag about you to his closest friends. you’d think you’re some fictional character from a game, but no you are his and only his!
megumi with a pochacco girlfriend
❤︎ there is never a dull moment between the two of you. as you both can make the smallest things into a competition between each other. let anyone simply ask “who’s better at ___?” you both are jumping at the opportunity to beat the others ass.
❤︎ the way you two ended up together is a mystery to yourself, but also so funny. your brother was a delinquent that often got into arguments with other students. just this one time he decided to bother megumi which didn’t end well for him. of course you went to go stand up for your brother and cuss out the jackass you put his hands on your family. but let’s just say…. you got completely distracted and ended up bonding with the guy? you overheard him talking about one of your favorite special interests and couldn’t help but join in. it’s rare that you find someone else who deeply loves something like you.
nanami with a melody girlfriend
❤︎ nanami with his melody girlfriend are such a odd but complimenting couple. the both of you have an understanding, you love being the “traditional girlfriend” while he loves being a “traditional boyfriend.” basically he provides for you while you spend his money on all your precious desires (he prefers it this way).
❤︎ often you find yourself on top of nanami almost every night. often you find yourself having silly little nightmares from recent horror movies you’ve watched, but nanami is always there to comfort you. he hovers over, without letting you feel any of his weight. “here take melody” he tucks her into you and kiss you on the head before cuddling up with you.
geto with batz a maru girlfriend
❤︎ oh boy! two people who look like absolute meanies but care so deeply for the ones who know them best. relationship consists of you two constantly picking on each other or just plain embarrassing the other.
❤︎ geto’s most fondest memory with you is when you both first met for a blind date. it was at a bar that is now only but a block away from where you both call home. he remembers you getting so drunk that you couldn’t even properly write your signature that night. geto had never seen someone show how genuine they are with their real personality, jokes, and being loud as hell. he loved that you didn’t feel the need to hide yourself for others benefit.
gojo with a cinnamoroll girlfriend
❤︎ you know how everyone loves the girlfriend that speaks for their boyfriend when the waiter gets his food wrong? well that’s the dynamic you and gojo have, but he’s the one who speaks up for you.
❤︎ sometimes you find that a lot of your cinnamoroll plushies are missing and that because of no one other than you boyfriend. gojo enjoys taking them and putting them in his office to dress them up as a mini version of him. “doesn’t he look way better with my shades on” he proudly displays cinnamoroll with a mini version of the outfit he has on.
sukuna with a kuromi girlfriend
❤︎ naturally sukuna would gravitate towards a kuromi girl. someone that’s just as rebellious and mischievous as him, but also girly at the same time.
❤︎ sukuna loves getting reactions out of you. something like hiding your favorite plushie. can get you so heated and he loves seeing that side of you come out. when you come to him to ask where he placed it, he always pretends he has no clue as to what you’re chatting about. “oh, you’re talking about that black and purple plushies of yours right?” “yes!” “ i don’t recall ever seeing it love” he says with a wink.
choso with a mocha girlfriend
❤︎ you two are the perfect example of a pink aesthetic girlfriend with a black aesthetic boyfriend. do people constantly question you both being together because of your different aesthetics? yes, but doesn’t choso give them a death stare for it? absolutely yes!
❤︎ choso is too shy to admit it to you but he loves cuddling you or just being able to touch you in anyway you allow him to. he prefers to sleep in your room filled up to the brim with pink and he cherishes every second of it.
toji with a choco cat girlfriend
❤︎ a mischievous and carrying boyfriend with the laid back girlfriend that’s friendly. dare i say that how toji acts with you is like a golden retriever but in a black cat form. he’s does all the carrying and doting things regular boyfriends do, but he always had to remind you who he is at heart. which is a childish man with a fat cock!
❤︎ toji knows how self-conscious you get when going to the gym. not because of the curves you possess, but because you feel like you’re doing the workouts completely wrong. which is why he always has to be your hype man at the gym. while your taking pictures for your social media hes right behind you slapping your ass. “beautiful just beautiful” he says as he slaps your ass again and leaving a kiss on your cheek.

Heaven on earth
Pairing: Fred Weasley + fem!reader
Word count: 2852
summary: You spent Christmas at the burrow with the rest of the Weasleys while trying to get over your long-term crush Fred Weasley because you weren’t sure how your best friend Ginny would react to your feelings.
Trigger Warnings: One tiny sexual thought, Fred calling you ‘sis’ twice maybe?, parents being judggy, horrible writing, kissing and mentions of sex
my masterlist
Requests are open
You were at the burrow for Christmas with your best friend Ginny Weasley. Your parents were away for a trip and you were going to stay at Hogwarts, but then Ginny found out and insisted that you stay with her. When you refused for the first time, she practically dragged you here.
You loved Ginny and all the Weasleys, you would’ve loved staying with them for Christmas and even for the rest of your life. There was however a small complication, you’ve liked Fred for two years. The only reason this would be a problem is because when you first started hanging out with Ginny she confessed about how many other people she befriended only used her to reach her brothers.
You then promised that you would never do that to her, but you were eleven when you said that. Boys were disgusting creatures, some of them still are but there are few exceptions. You first started catching feelings for Fred when you were thirteen and now at the age of fifteen your feelings only intensified.
You couldn’t help but believe that even if Ginny’s feelings wouldn’t get hurt by assuming that you used her for this long, Fred only views you as a little sister since you hung out so much with Ginny.
Fred had done things that could’ve made you think that he actually liked you but then he’d go and call you a good friend for his sister. Back in your third year he called you ‘sis’ you had spent the week on the verge of crying, and then he asked Angelina to the yule ball, it only made you sadder. You couldn’t even talk to Ginny about it, so your feelings were bottled up for a long time. Now you have a better grip of your feelings considering your best friend's brother.
You were now being greeted by everyone at the burrow, Molly gave you a kiss on your head and said how happy she was to see you. You gave her a smile and you greeted Bill, Charlie and George; and you had even talked to Harry who even though he had been on the train together you didn’t talk to him. You had already talked to Ron earlier so you didn’t bother talking to him.
Fred then came down rushing in, saying out loud “What’s happening?” When he reached the bottom of the stairs his eyes skimmed the room smiling when he noticed his siblings.
Even though Ginny mentioned that Fred and George -as they should- still spent Christmas at the Burrow, you weren’t ready to see Fred. You had always been able to tell Fred and George apart even by the slight differences on their faces.
You would never admit it but most of your time in the Great Hall was spent looking at Fred not eating. His smile fell off his face when he saw you standing there, you averted your gaze from him; on the train you had decided that now that you were going to see Fred it would be the perfect opportunity to get over all your feelings.
You would now see him for almost three weeks and that means you wouldn’t have time to fantasise about him; and you could focus on his flaws -which you were yet to find any that bothered you enough to get over him-
You watched as he greeted Ron, Harry, and Ginny; you tried not to notice the cute smile on his face as he saw the rest of his family for the first time in a while, and you suppressed the fluttering feeling in your stomach. Molly ushered everyone to the kitchen and you said in a raised voice “I’m going to go get my bags, I left them outside.”
You went out the door and started to grab your heavy suitcase; when you had lifted it near your chest you noticed it got much lighter. You at first thought you were getting stronger but then you heard a small “Hi.”
You let out a small squeak and jumped slightly letting go of the suitcase, taking a step away. Fred was standing there with your heavy suitcase in one hand, you noticed how the veins in his hands and arms flexed; and you tried not to think about them around your body and your neck.
He had the other hand in a wave motion, you then said “Hey.”
“I just came out to help you with your bag, and uh I didn’t get to talk to you when I came downstairs.” He said as he moved closer to you and let go of your bag, putting it on the ground. You didn’t notice what he was doing until he had wrapped you in a tight embrace, you ignored the butterflies and put your arms around him. You didn’t let yourself indulge in the moment and his comforting smell -marshmallows and fireworks-
Fred let out a large sigh when he put his arms around you, he felt himself relax even more as you reciprocated his hug. As soon as he saw you in the Burrow his heart almost leaped out of his chest, and he didn’t know how to react -not expecting to see you there- So he wiped his face from all emotion as he did in emotional moments. He was going to the kitchen when George elbowed him in the ribs and told him to go help ‘his future girl’ with carrying her bag.
He knew for a fact that right now while Ginny, his dad and mom were preparing the dinner, all his siblings and Harry were looking out the window watching this interaction with their full attention. George had found out about his feelings because of how much his gaze went to you during Hogwarts; and Ron and Harry found out by how much of Fred’s letters to Ron were mostly questions about you. Bill and Charlie found out by Ron blabbing about it in front of them, he got teased endlessly by his older brothers. He would’ve asked Ginny for the information about you and he did but he then stopped when his mom lectured all of the brothers about how Ginny thinks that all her friends like her because of them.
He couldn’t do that to his sister so instead he opted to talk to Ron about you and make all his brothers swear not to tell Ginny about his obvious feelings. He started liking you last year and he cringed at the memory of him calling you a sister in his sixth year. He let go of you slowly, noticing that the amount of time you both hugged would’ve been too much for you not to notice his feelings.
He grabbed your bag from the ground and you smiled at him gratefully, he didn’t utter a single word as he walked to the burrow with you beside him. He opened the door for you then he put the bag down, he looked at you with a slight blush -that you didn’t notice.
“Thanks.” You said looking at him, he averted your gaze and replied “No problem, sis.” He then turned around and went quickly to the kitchen, and you tried not to give a single care to the sinking feeling in your chest and you reminded yourself that this is the reason why you have to get over him; and it seemed as if it wouldn’t be that hard because he didn’t talk to you for the next two days.
***
It was Christmas and you were in Ginny’s room putting on a warmer jacket while everyone was downstairs exchanging presents. You had gotten Molly a muggle cook book and Arthur a bunch of muggle stationary with a camera, and you had gotten Ginny a broomstick kit. Ginny insisted that you only get presents for three people because of how you didn’t know that you were coming and that she didn’t want you spending too much money with your parents out of the country.
You picked up the jacket and went to stand in front of a mirror to put it on when you heard a knock on the door. “Come in.” you said, and watched as Fred came into the room. Your eyebrows furrowed, a feeling of slight hurt going over you at remembering him calling you a sister. You had talked to him after but only the essential things like "Fred can you pass me the salt?” and him giving it to you and after a small thanks from you a small, “no problem.”
“Hi.” He said, and you replied with a small awkward, “hi.”
He stepped closer to you as he said “I got you something.” Only then you registered the small red box he had in his hand, and then you quickly felt both flattered and guilty “Fred, I didn’t get you anything; you shouldn’t have.”
He waved a hand in a dismissing motion, he felt nervous; which he never did around girls, maybe it was because he actually liked you and that he would actually feel sad if he ruined your already fragile relationship. He only called you a sister once again because he felt nervous and it’s an immediate feeling dismisser. After he had told his brothers the story they had a good laugh and they told him to get you a gift to try to mend your friendship, because if that’s the only thing that you both could have together he wanted it all.
He spent hours trying to find the perfect gift for you, he had found Angelina also shopping for a gift and when he asked her for advice after laughing at his face she told him to get a customisable one. He had got you a necklace that said “amica mea” It meant “my love” in latin, and he wasn’t smart enough to know that so that was another thanks to Angelina.
You watched as he handed you the box and said “Merry Christmas.” You grabbed the box from him with a blush that matched its colour, and you opened it and there was a silver necklace with some words that you were too nervous and flattered to ask what they meant. “Can you-” you said as you motioned between the necklace and your neck.
He nodded quickly as he said “yeah, yeah.” He ran behind you and took the necklace from your hand and opened it, he pushed your hair from your neck which caused goosebumps to rise on your neck and butterflies to start flying in Fred’s stomach. You looked at him from the mirror and watched as he placed the necklace around your neck, his hands lingered there for a few seconds; before your eyes connected in the mirror.
You turned around and your turn made your hair fall on your back once again, you shyly tilted your head up to him and said “I really like it. Thank you.” He shook his head slightly as he looked at you and said “It’s nothing.”
You kept looking into his eyes as you asked “What does it mean?” You didn’t notice the blush on his face but you did notice his gaze going to your lips, and you couldn’t help but lick them under his gaze. “It means-” he cut himself off as he leaned in slightly and licked his own lips and he continued “It means-”
His sentence was cut off by Ginny entering the room saying your name loudly and followed by “Dinner’s ready!” You and Fred moved apart quickly and you hoped she wouldn’t notice your blush or the necklace. Her eyes skimmed the room and both of you then repeated her sentence “Dinner’s ready, come on let’s go.”
You nodded as you quickly left the room trying to erase the blush from your face while going down the stairs. You had forgotten to put on the jacket that was still on your arm and you put it on. When you reached down stairs, it seemed that you and Fred had a mutual unspoken agreement that you wouldn’t mention what could’ve happened and that you both would ignore how your hearts skipped several beats at the thought of the interaction.
Molly had ushered everyone together so Arthur could take a picture of the entire family with you and Harry at Christmas. While everyone was standing into the frame, Fred watched as his father struggled to work the camera that you got him. Charlie, Bill and George all kept switching places until you and Fred were standing beside each other.
He glared at his brothers while they gave him shameless smiles. Ginny and you wrapped your arms around each other when Ginny whispered a joke to you, you laughed and an instant smile appeared on Fred’s face and then Arthur clicked the camera.
Molly replicated the picture into two and gave you one and framed the other with her wand. It was a moving picture because you asked George to charm it. The picture was everyone smiling while you burst into laughter from Ginny’s joke. You didn’t notice Fred looking at you like he just found out that there was a heaven on earth because of you but Ginny did.
***
You had your bags in your hand as you were standing in front of the door, you waited for everyone to go downstairs and say goodbye to you. You wore a dress because your parents were coming today and they always judged you and you wanted to make them proud so you tried to look good.
Fred entered the room, you were still wearing the necklace he gave you and you were frantically straightening out your hair and outfit trying to look as perfect as possible. When you saw him you asked “Do I look okay?”
He nodded and said “you look beautiful as always.” A blush covered your cheeks when he came closer to you and pushed a strand of your hair behind your ear. His gaze lingered on your lips and then you decided to be brave, you cupped his face with your hands and pressed your lips against his.
you pull back feeling him unmoving; you see him frozen, face emotionless. Apologies immediately start tumbling from your mouth, mostly consisting of swear words and ‘sorry’s’ and ‘I should have asked you first’. your face is extremely flushed 20% from the kiss and 80% from embarrassment. You moved back several steps, and you grabbed your suitcase again.
Then you hear him mumble a few words that you didn't catch. “What?” you asked in a dazed voice, trying to suppress the blush that is on your face right now; and trying to recover from the embarrassment.
“Do it again.”
Now you’re the one whose frozen, your blush intensifies. He probably catches on to the fact that you won’t be moving any time soon and adds, “or I will.”
Then the next thing you know is his lips on yours. He had crossed the room in a matter of seconds, and cupped your face with both his hands. Your face fit perfectly in his hands as if he was made to hold you and you made to be with him. After the shock from his actions had fully settled you let your suitcase drop on the floor carelessly and you fisted the collar of his robes in your hands and pulled him down, so you can kiss him properly.
You felt him smile in the kiss and you smiled as well, you then were interrupted by several loud cheers from George, Bill, Charlie and Ginny. You were embarrassed and you were worried that Ginny was mad but then you registered the cheering and that she said “About time.”
You furrowed your eyebrows and Ginny rolled her eyes at your reaction. She let out a large scoff and said “You seriously didn’t think I’d notice you gawking at my brother for the past two years everyday.” She saw Fred smirk and she then turned to him and added “Don’t get too cocky yourself, you couldn’t send me a letter for an entire year without asking me about her. You also gave her a necklace with the words ‘My love’ written on them, you weren’t really subtle.”
George, Bill and Charlie erupted with laughter at both your faces. You said goodbye to everyone and then you walked out only to find Fred holding your suitcase smirking “I’ll take you back.” You smiled at his words and went with him.
You didn’t get home until after midnight. You and Fred got side-tracked and he insisted on taking you out on a date that involved more kissing and a lot more than that.

Forget me not.
Pairing: König x f!Reader ( aka Mini MacTavish )
Summary: The bad news you never want to hear, and more. Takes place after Interlude two : Everyone deserves happiness.
Warning: Mature theme. TRIGGER WARNING: gun violence, blood and gore and death. English isn’t my first language. You are responsible for your own media consumption.
A/N : Character of Mini MacTavish is from @saltofmercury fic “ “The Favorite MacTavish” ” which she graciously let me borrow and write bit more expanded universe. Please go read her wonderful story to get bit of background,
“masterlist” for more prequel to this Mini MacTavish expanded verse.
Staring at the screen, drumming your fingers on the desk. You can't seem to concentrate. You been typing the same sentence for the last thirty minute and making no progress at all. Decided to give up on doing your clinical reports, you dragged yourself into the staff room to make yourself a cup of tea. You been feeling very antsy all day, it's a bad sign. Everytime you feel very fidgety nothing good came out from it. Last time it was Johnny declared MIA , your poor Ma cried her heart out until him and Ghost was found a month later, alive but worse for wear.
Your thought gone back to the boys again. It has been seven weeks since they left for their mission. There had been zero contact from them, but you weren't surprised. There have been times they will be silent for weeks until just before they return home. But this time it's different. Senses are tingling. Mindlessly stirring your cup, you saw the HR manager walking by. Doing a double take when they saw you in the staff room, " Oh Mini, I was on my way to find you. Your emergency leave application has been approved." They informed you. You frowned. What leave? You weren't planning any holiday until Christmas. Your phone went off at the same time. Unknown number. You answered it after hesitating for a split second, " Hello MacTavish here." " ... Mini." The deep distinctive Manchester accent. "... Simon?" " Go home now, pack your bag. Soap will be waiting for you in one hour. Don't forget your passport." and he hung up immediately. " Wait wh... UGh". Sculling down your tea, you rush towards the locker room and grabbed your bag, not bothering to get changed you drove home as fast as you can. Throwing all the necessary stuff into the duffle bag, you send Emma a text explaining your haste departure, you heard a car pulling up in front of your flat. Seeing your brother's face , you hurryingly lock the door and throw your bag into the boot. Giving Johnny a quick kiss on the face, you bombard him with questions while he drive off towards the airport. "Johnny, what the hell is going on?, Is that a bruise on your face??? Ah Jesus did you get shot as well??!!" You reach out trying to touch him, he swat your hands away. " Ah I'm fine stop fussing. We going on next flight to Germany." He didn't elaborate further. " Who put my leaves in?" " Price managed to pull few strings. Your boss wasn't too overly impressed but a word from the high up shut them up pretty quick." You sunk back into the seat. You doubt you will get anymore answer out from him until reaching the destination. The rest of your trip was spent mostly in silence. You can see Johnny is trying to hide something. He is never good at holding secrets from you. Always can tell by his body language.
Gaz was there to pick you two up from the airport. He tries to make little chit chat with you during the car ride to... somewhere? This got you confused even more. Aren't the boys on a long term mission? " Where is Simon and Uncle Price?" "At the hospital." Soap interjected. " OH Gosh something happened to them?" " No they are fine. Don't you worry."
" Why isn't anyone telling me anything????" Gaz pulled into what looks like military hospital car park, everyone got off and he gave you a sympathetic look. As you walk further into the hospital wing, you starting to put two and two together. Johnny is here, Gaz is here, Simon and Price is fine... so that leaves... König. " Where is König?" Both Gaz and Soap stop on their track. They look at each other. Soap is getting agitated, he couldn't tell his sister the truth of this visit. He couldn't. He felt guilty. He felt responsible for what happened. " Mini... Look.." " MINI." As Gaz open his mouth to explain. Ghost appeared. You ran towards your adopted big brother and pull him into a tight hug. He return your hug and proceed to lead the group to one of the private ward, tucked away in the deepest part of the hospital. Putting his hand on the door knob, pausing for a moment, before opening it. You see Price sitting on the chair in the corner who gave you a wave as soon as he saw you, and you turn your attention to the person currently lying on the hospital bed, with all the tubes and machine attached. It's your big teddy bear, the love of your life. König. Your mind goes blank, body started to shake. Soap came up beside you and pull you in with one arm. " He's been in coma for about a week or so now. Doctor said he is in critical but stable condition. I am sorry Mini... It... It was my fault.. I should have been more aware .. " " Don't fully take the blame Johnny." Ghost sighed. " We weren't too sure what was going to happen." He patted your head. It's something he started doing lately to comfort you. " You shouldn't even be here really. Someone owed Price a huge favour, so we manage to get you here without problem." You glance at Price with gratitude. The boys left you alone with some privacy while four of them have left the hospital for military related business, but promise you one of them will take turn to stay with you during the time of your stay. You put your bag in the corner of the room, out of the way and pulled a chair in so you can sit closer to him. He look so pale. There are still some bruises on the side of his face where he took some sort of hit. Lifting your hand you run your fingers through his hair, gently down his face. Tears starting to drop. Leaning your head on his big hand, the gentle hand you love so much and cried yourself to sleep. The boys were true to their words, They take turn in shifts to stay with you. Gaz usually try to have little chit chat with you, Johnny and you usually bickers about stuff, Both you and Price sits there silently, him going through his mission files and reports, while you do some administration work on your laptop. Simon just sit there and read books. It's not until one morning about a week into your visit, Gaz has ducked out and grabbed some coffee for both of you, you notice his hand twitched a little, and he is stirred awake. Blinking his eyes few times, getting use to the bright light, he slowly turned his head. He sense your presence. His eyes met yours with a piercing look, you sense something wasn't quite right. There was no love, let alone recognition in his stare. You shrink back a little, feeling like a prey being assessed by its hunter. The next three words that came out from his mouth next made your heart shattered. " WHO are you."

words count: 651 pairing: Yeonjun x gn!reader (ft. brother! Wooyoung) genre: angst, a pinch of fluff, unrequited love
song rec.: Hideyuki Fukasawa - Ocean of Memories
a/n: re-uploading works from my old acc, so don't be surprised if you might already see it. :>
You sat on the table, leaning onto your right hand, your mind was elsewhere while you were fixated on one certain boy sitting before you and talking to your brother - Choi Yeonjun. You knew him since forever cause he is your brother's best friend who happened to come over to your house almost every day after school. But he is not only your brother's friend but yours too. He is always kind and nice to you, sometimes helping you with something, especially related to the study cause he is quite smart and has high grades as far as you know from your brother, Wooyoung.
Yeonjun mostly came to your house to hang out with your brother, but there are those rare moments when he shows up abruptly at times when your brother isn't home yet and you keep him company for a while. You always think about these moments as the best ones, because you have that alone time where you can talk to the boy about anything and enjoy his presence. You can look at his sunny smile and hear his boisterous laugh when you said some lame joke and keep it in your memory to remember when you have bad days.
Being in his presence always felt warm like you are sitting under the spring sunshine. Yeonjun comforted you a few times when you had rough days at school. He wiped your tears with his soft hands and told you some stupid stuff that makes you laugh through the tears and then gives you hugs to calm you down.
However, as time went by you noticed that he rarely came over to your brother. At first, it's just 2-3 times a week, then once in two weeks, and then two or three times a month. You wondered why he suddenly stopped spending his time here, you even asked Wooyoung about the reason, but he just shrugged and said that Yeonjun is busy with his study at university or something like that.
And now you begin to treasure these moments when the boy appears on your front porch. At these times you felt like a little child on Christmas seeing their desired gift under the Christmas tree. You missed him a lot, you missed his soft smile, you missed his loud laugh, you missed his eyes that were full of warmth, you missed your small talks and his occasional jokes, you missed everything.
And now the three of you are sitting in your kitchen and you can't stop staring at the boy who sits in front of you. You want to remember every little thing about him until you see him next time. However, you haven't prepared for what's waiting for you this evening.
You heard the notification ding through the room and Yeonjun picked up his phone to check it, you saw the soft smile adorning his pretty face. "Guys, I would really want to spend more time with you, but I totally forgot about the date with Minso I have like in an hour, so I guess I should go. See you around!" he smiled, his eyes forming crescent moons. Then he bumps his fist with Wooyoung and half hugs you saying his goodbye.
The time went past you while you were sitting frozen. How come you never know he is dating someone? This question was the only thing that rings through your head. You didn't even feel the hot tears on your cheeks until your brother tapped your shoulder with a worried look on his face, you didn't bother to explain anything as you just stormed past him on the second floor and slapped your door shut. That night you cried yourself to sleep with thoughts that you should get over this stupid pretty boy, even if it would be impossible you should do it possible cause you can't live with that burning aches in your heart.

ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS - Chapter 20
*Warning: Adult Content*
Jayce stared at the wall of his hotel room, sighing before he looked back at his laptop.
This would be the fifth job application he'd submitted today.
He hoped someone would call him back but he worried that because it was now December and the holidays were approaching, companies wouldn't be hiring until the new year.
He had enough savings to stay in this hotel for the rest of the month but after that, he'd have to start bringing in some money if he wanted to make sure he had enough to pay for the deposit and first month's rent for a new apartment.
To make things worse, most of the apartments he'd looked at wanted proof of employment and current pay stubs, so he couldn't even get an apartment until he got a job.
It was stressful but it wasn't what was bothering him most.
Dylan was constantly on his mind.
He missed the quiet, gentle man.
He missed Dylan's huge arms wrapped around him, Dylan's warm lips against his and the way Dylan seemed to smell like Christmas.
He still didn't understand quite what had gone wrong.
Dylan seemed to like him and he'd told Jayce he could be himself.
But maybe what had happened was what always happened to him, as soon as he wasn't perfect, guys left him.
He'd challenged Dylan about going into town and brought up Dylan's flaws and a few hours later, Dylan had sent him back to Seattle.
The other possibility was that his helplessness and tendency to turn everything into a disaster had been too much for Dylan.
Because of his poor planning, he'd caused a missing persons fiasco, wasted everyone's time and caused the police to show up at Dylan's door.
Most people wouldn't be happy about that.
He hadn't known his brother was going to invite him for Thanksgiving this year or that both his brother and his parents would panic when they didn't hear back from him and couldn't get in touch with him.
It was nice to know his family actually did care.
Since he missed Thanksgiving with them, he had been invited to fly to his brother's house for Christmas.
Giving up on the job applications for now, he crawled onto the hotel bed and sank down with his face in the pillows.
He was upset about how things had turned out with Dylan and he'd spent more time moping around than he wanted to admit.
Every time he closed his eyes, he pictured Dylan's face.
He didn't know how things would have worked out between them, especially living several hours apart from each other but he'd at least wanted to try being in a relationship with Dylan.
Beside him on the bed, his phone started vibrating.
He picked it up quickly, hoping maybe it'd be someone from one of the jobs he'd applied to but he sighed when he saw it was just his brother calling him.
Again.
"Hey, Matt," he answered. "I'm still okay. Not lost anywhere. You don't need to keep checking up on me."
"I know but I want to. I feel bad for being too wrapped up in my own life to keep in touch on a consistent basis. That's going to change."
"You have a wife and kids. You should be focused on them."
"And I can focus on you too," Matt sighed. "I didn't know Dad and Mom were being so weird about you being gay. If I had known, I would have done a lot of things differently."
"It's not your problem."
"It is, especially when my little brother takes off into the mountains without telling anyone and almost dies."
"I'm fine," he insisted. "I promise. I won't ever do that again, trust me."
"You still owe me the detailed version of what happened. I mean, some guy who lived in the mountains found you? You can't just leave it at that."
"Okay," he sighed.
He started filling Matt in about Dylan and he couldn't help but tell him everything.
He needed to talk to someone about Dylan and about how he had messed it all up.
"That's quite a story," Matt said.
"Yeah. I just wish I hadn't screwed things up."
"Jayce, I don't think it's your fault. Based on everything you just told me about Dylan, he's had a rough life. This might be something you should talk to Heather about."
He had only spoken with Matt's wife Heather a few times but she had always been kind to him.
And she was a therapist, so it probably wouldn't hurt to get her perspective.
Heather's warm, upbeat voice filled his ear.
"Hey, Jayce. I'm glad you're okay and safely back in Seattle. You had us all worried."
"I'm fine," he assured her. "I didn't mean to cause all this trouble."
He gave her a brief recap of the past couple months but spent most of the time telling her about Dylan.
She listened carefully, taking a moment to think before giving her opinion.
"If you really like Dylan and want to have a relationship with him, the first thing both of you will have to do is communicate better. It sounds like you both have insecurities and you need to talk to each other about those. Second, you're going to have to take the lead on a lot of things. Dylan's had a sheltered life and it doesn't seem like he's had much opportunity for human interaction. He doesn't have the same social skills that you do. You're going to have to be patient with him. There may be days when he lashes out or doesn't know how to handle a situation. I suspect that's what happened when he sent you home."
"I didn't think about all of that," he admitted.
"If you want to talk to him again or see him again, you'll need to be the one to reach out. There could be any number of things Dylan is thinking but it's possible that after everything he's been through, he doesn't believe you actually want to be around him."
He listened carefully to everything Heather said, asking a few follow-up questions before they hung up.
He was grateful to have her advice and see the situation from someone else's perspective.
It gave him hope that things didn't have to be over with Dylan.
For days, Dylan had laid in his bed, barely eating and ignoring the world around him.
The silence he'd once loved was stifling now.
Jayce was gone and he'd give anything to hear Jayce's laugh again or listen to him ramble on, filling the room with the sound of his voice.
He pulled the blanket over his head and clutched the scarf he'd given to Jayce.
After Jayce had left, he'd found the scarf draped over a chair.
Apparently, Jayce didn't want to take it with him and didn't want any reason to remember him or his time in the cabin.
The rejection stung but he buried his face in the scarf and breathed deeply. It still smelled like Jayce.
He knew he needed to get up and move on with his life.
More snow had fallen and he needed to clear the driveway again and bring in more firewood.
And if he wanted fresh fruit and vegetables, he'd have to do what he dreaded most, go back into town to the grocery store.
A few hours later, he pulled into the parking lot of the grocery store.
He stared at the building in front of him, hoping there wouldn't be many people inside.
He hoped he could get in, get what he needed and get out before anyone noticed him.
Inside the store, a group of teenagers were in the bakery section looking at the desserts and an older woman was slowly pushing a cart down one of the aisles as she browsed.
He kept his head down and headed straight to the produce section.
He quickly picked out what he wanted before taking a detour to grab some fish fillets as well.
He was about to turn the corner into the next aisle when he heard the whispers of the teenagers he'd seen when he entered the store.
"Did you see that creepy guy is in here?" one of the girls said. "I heard that he kidnapped a hiker and kept him in some weird cabin up in the mountains."
One of the guys chimed in.
"My dad said the same thing and told me to stay away from him. Like I would ever go near him. Something's wrong with that guy."
His heart sank hearing their words.
He didn't know how the information about Jayce being at his cabin had gotten out but it shouldn't have surprised him that people were twisting the story to make him out to be a threat.
Now, people's stares were going to be even worse.
The teenagers laughed about something and he focused on their words again.
"That big scar on his face looks so bad," another girl whispered. "I don't know why he walks around like that instead of trying to cover it up."
He felt sick.
It was one thing for his mind to fill in the blanks about what people must be thinking as they stared at him but it was another thing entirely hearing their real thoughts.
He couldn't stand another second of being in public with everyone's watching eyes, so he dropped his basket of groceries and quickly fled from the store.

Plastic Skies - Model 7: Mirage IV
Surprise end of the year update on the modeling front. Gonna keep this short and sweet, first because we all have better things to do, and second because I don’t actually have a lot of pics of this one, but yeah. Turns out my father gifted me a cheap little model kit for Christmas. So... this one may get a little personal.
Being former military himself, dad liked to buy my brother and I army toys. We had a massive (to us) box full of cheap army men of every color, tanks and boats and ships and vehicles of (almost) every size, and we would spend long afternoons setting them up over the carpet of our living room. Not really playing games with them, just arranging them in what we thought were the coolest ways. There were other things, toy rifles and pistols and such. To his credit, dad never tried to push either of us towards joining, although the military in our country is an even touchier subject than in the US or a lot of other countries.
Anyway, models were a part of it. It was dad who bought our first ones. Even after we stopped building them, he still bought us a few toy planes here and there wherever we saw them. I remember a particular holiday week on the coast where we spotted a bunch of die-cast planes at a local supermarket, and dad offered to buy us one each day on the way back to the beach. I still have a faded grayish blue Spitfire from that occasion.
All of this to say that, looking back, I think dad gifting me a model kit for the first time in over two decades would feel... a bit heavier. A bit more momentuous maybe. But for reasons that are an extra layer of personal, it didn’t. Still, I did my best to show this cheap little plane some love. And it was nice to get even more evidence that I’m getting at least a little better at this, since it only took me a day and a half to finish it. I do need to learn how to properly sand off models before painting them, and getting the decals on was a bit of an ordeal (that I’ll blame them for), but it was also fun to get a chance to paint a model in full metal colors. Aluminum in this case, all in accordance to the original plane.
A plane that, by the way, I didn’t even know existed until I got this. Turns out it’s a supersonic bomber variant of the Mirage, a fair bit larger and made for longer distances. That’s part of the fun of building kits I guess. Learning about new planes. Although it has left me not wanting to see another Mirage for a while now.
I guess there’s not much else to say about it. The wheels are a bit messy, the seams are visible, and I didn’t exactly bother with any weatherings. Still a nice distraction. And if anything, it’s a good example of something that I hope becomes a trend: next time someone wants to gift me something for any special occasion, howzabout a model?
Anyway, next one might take a while. I’m starting 2023 with an empty bank account and some possible big expenses that will have to be taken care of before I do anything else, but I already know what I want to do and how I want to do it. It’s kinda daunting, mostly because I want to Get It Right, but I do feel a lot more confident about it than I did back in September. So hopefully I can get started soon and it ends up well.
Hope I get to show it off soon too!

OK, So THIS Is How To Make Sex A "Christmas Gift" This Year
Sex can actually be a pretty cool gift, if you include some of these tips.
Shellie R. Warren
Dec. 20, 2021 06:00PM EST
Fairly recently, I saw a tweet that cracked me up. Not because of the tweet itself but the comments (Black Twitter’s comment section is king!). I’ll let you peep the tweet for yourself and then guess what men said underneath it before actually looking to confirm your suspicions:
Take it how you want but I’ll be the first to stand in solidarity with my brothers that women who expect all of the finer things in life (I’m speaking to the ones that come with a price tag), only to turn around and only offer up sex on Christmas, Valentine’s Day, their anniversary and their man’s birthday are slightly scamming. Anyone who wants to give pushback, how would you feel if your man did that to you? That’s why I said that while I do think that sex is quite precious (extremely so), if you’re going to take the “Merry Christmas” approach to it without giving much else this year, there needs to be a lot of pre-planning and effort put into it in order to make things extra special.
So, whether money is a little on the tighter side right now or you want to present some holiday sex in a very special way, here are 15 things that will definitely keep your man from being like those dudes in the comment section were (if you catch my drift).
1. Stuff Some Stockings
Stockings are a signature symbol for Christmas and since a “sexy Christmas” is the theme of this particular article, why don’t you and yours purchase a couple of ‘em and then fill them up with things like flavored condoms, DIY sex coupons, handcuffs, body paint, blindfolds, sex dice, massage candles, edible undies, a new sex toy, flavored lubricant and whatever else y’all’s sweet little hearts’ desire? If you like to move discreetly, virtually all of this stuff can be found online if you just put the name of what you’re looking for into the search field of your favorite search engine.
2. Play a Few Rounds of ’12 Sex Games of Christmas’
A cool way to spend some quality time with your partner is to play a couple of games. In the spirit of getting all hot ‘n bothered, one that you might want to purchase is called 12 Games of Christmas. With game titles like Please Go Down for Christmas and Rudolph the Romantic Sex Slave, how can it not, at the very least, pique your curiosity in the naughtiest way possible? You can get ithere.
3. Cop Some Peppermint-Flavored Lubricant
Remember how I mentioned lubricant in the stocking suggestion? If there is a signature scent (and flavor) for Christmas, peppermint would definitely have to be one of them, so why not get a tube of some peppermint-flavored lube? A fan favorite is Aloe Cadabra Natural Organic Personal Lube Edible Vegan Peppermint Tingle because it’s water-based (which makes it safe to use with latex condoms), it doesn’t mess with our pH and it tastes great although it’s sugar-free. If you’re interested, you can get ithere.
Oh, and if you really want to take things to another level in the oral sex department, put a little lube where you want it and then put some oral sex pop candies into your mouth (you can find some here). Remember Pop Rocksfrom back in the day? Same thing. Different purpose. #wink
4. Bring in Some Mistletoe
What would a sexy Christmas be without at least one mistletoe, right? As far as where to get some, local home improvement stores, some arts and crafts stores and usually Walmart and Target carry them. Since we all know that the tradition is to kiss underneath it (and also since no one said that the kissing had to only be done on the mouth), how about putting your mistletoe in a place where you want a lot of the action to go down? Over your bed. On your showerhead (check out “So, This Is How To Make Shower Sex So Much Better”). In your kitchen. On top of your washing machine (don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!). On your bra. In your underwear. The possibilities are endless.
Just know that if your partner sees a mistletoe somewhere, there will absolutely be no confusion about what you want to transpire.
5. Get a Mini Christmas Tree and Hang Some Dirty Date Night Tokens from It
Whether you get a big tree every year or this year, you want to scale things down a bit, make things festive in your bedroom by investing in a miniature Christmas tree that you can put on your dresser or nightstand. Then hang some “naughty” tokens from it or put some around it. Etsy is my joint and I found a merchant who sells some wooden ones that say things like “Oral Sex,” “Wild Card,” and “Fantasy Fulfilled”. You can get a set of them here if you’d like.
6. Customize Some Wrapping Paper (Then Wrap Yourself Up in It)
I can’t tell you how many husbands have told me that sex with one woman doesn’t get old, so long as the sex itself doesn’t get boring (check out “10 Men Told Me Why They're Fine Having Sex With One Partner”). Because men are visual creatures, one way to prevent that from happening is by “wrapping up the gift” (the gift would be “you” in this case). If you literally want to wrap yourself up in paper, a fun approach is to hit up the site Gift Wrap My Face so that they can literally put your face on some wrapping paper.
Or, if you’d like to take the lingerie approach, this is the time of year when a lot of shops sell teddies that look like a big red bow. An example of what I’m talking about is located here, here, here, here, and here.
7. Give Your Bedroom a Christmas/Winter Wonderland Theme
Some bedding in traditional Christmas colors like red, green, or silver. Some cranberry garland on your bedposts (that you should be able to find at your local arts and crafts store). A Christmas wreath on your bedroom wall. A string of twinkle lights. Little red bows everywhere. White faux fur throw pillows. Snowflake art. A big basket filled with scented pine cones. Bedding that is slate grey and light blue (a dope Christmas color scheme). Lots of candles in Christmas scents like vanilla, pine, frankincense and myrrh, clove, or pomegranate.
There are all kinds of simple and pretty inexpensive ways that you can totally transform your bedroom into a Christmas winter wonderland so that it literally feels like you and yours are enjoying each other in a different kind of space.
8. Have Fun with Some Fake Snow
What is a winter wonderland without snow? These days, you can create the illusion of having some, even inside of your house, thanks to different kinds of fake snow that’s currently on the market. One brand that a lot of people like is Buffalo Snow. You can get some snowflakes hereand some flurries here. A bed full of snow? Pardon the pun but how cool is that?
9. Turn on Some Blizzard ASMR
Although I’ve never really struggled with sleeping well, something that has absolutely changed my life over the past few years is sleeping with rain ASMR on. It just makes the quality of my rest so much…sounder. If you like nothing more than feeling like you are trapped in a snowstorm during your Christmas time off yet it looks like you’re not even going to get flurries this year, one way to work around that is to turn on some blizzard-sounding ASMR videos.
YouTube has quite a few of them and the windy sound really does make you feel like you’re in eight feet of snow. One of my favorites (that lasts for 10 hours, ad-free) can be found right here. Sex in a blizzard? C’mon now.
10. Bring in Some Christmas-Themed Edible Aphrodisiacs
In the article that I wrote, “12 Traditional Christmas Items That Are Low-Key Aphrodisiacs Too” a couple of years ago for the platform, a few edible things that I mentioned included eggnog and candy canes. Some other foods to add to that list includes a full-on entrée like a leg of lamb (it’s got carnitine which is great for men and their fertility), a “cozy drink” like apple cider (it can help to get you wetter), and a dessert, like a pumpkin pie (it’s high in zinc which increases sexual desire). Pick your pleasure.
11. Share Some Hot Chocolate Shots
There really is no telling how often I’ve shouted out dark chocolate when it comes to it being a great food for your sex life. A top reason is because serotonin (a hormone that stabilizes your mood and helps you to feel good) and phenethylamine (a natural chemical that offers up a stimulant effect) in dark chocolate can help to boost your libido. Keeping all of this in mind, what is Christmas without hot chocolate, chile?
To make things extra spicy in the absolute best ways possible, serve up some Mexican hot chocolate shots (recipe is here). The cinnamon will increase blood circulation to your genitalia and, if you decide to go with tequila instead of vodka, well — if you’ve ever had a tequila shot before, you already know what kind of night you’ll be in for. #wink
12. Light a Gingerbread Candle
One of the best things about sex, if it’s good (and I mean, REALLY good), is it involves all five senses — sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell. As far as scent goes, there is plenty of scientific data to support that one of the reasons why what we smell can strongly affect our mood (good or bad) is because of what we associate a particular scent with. If you used to eat or bake gingersnaps or make gingerbread houses around this time when you were a kid, that can “trigger” feelings of safety and warmth.
So, to smell something that resembles gingerbread while being intimate with your partner, that can make sex “sweet” in the best way possible. Gingerbread candles are not usually very hard to find this time of year. Yankee Candle, Big Lots, DW Home, Kohl’s, and Michaels are just some of the places where I noticed them online.
13. Play a Sexy Round of “Guess Your Gift”
Even if you do plan on going all out in this way, still try and get something that goes in a box or gift bag. Whether it’s a tradition for you and your partner to open presents up on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, make foreplayextra fun by playing a couple of rounds of something that I call “Guess Your Gift.” You each will give a super vague hint. Whoever guesses correctly can make a specific foreplay-related request (kissing a certain erogenous zone, giving a five-minute massage, etc.) If they don’t get it right, then the other person can make their foreplay request known. Talk about making the curiosity as awesome as the gift itself. Whew.
14. Put Poinsettia Petals All Over Your Bed
I’m pretty sure that it comes as no surprise to you that the December birth flower is the poinsettia. That’s pretty cool because they represent things like love, hope, good cheer, and success. Also, a nickname for it is Mexican flame flower. I don’t know about you, but all of these sound like good vibes to have in your sex life.
Although red rose petals are pretty popular when it comes to flowers to sprinkle on your bed, in your bathtub, or on your floors in order to set the mood, since all of this centers around a Christmas theme, why not go with some red or white poinsettias this year? It’ll be just as seductive and a lot more holiday-themed.
15. Fulfill a Fantasy
Want your partner to feel like they were blessed in a mighty way this Christmas? Ask them what their fantasy is and (so long as it doesn’t compromise your core because some people’s fantasies are next-level) do your best to fulfill it. It brings spontaneity into the relationship. It adds newness to the dynamic. And it definitely sets the two of you up to have a pretty unforgettable Christmas in the sex department. A great way to make sex feel like an actual Christmas gift. Straight up.

𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 — this is so cavity-inducing it makes me sick (affectionate) and why did i do the boys so dirty in this oml
“Why is Luke hitting on your girlfriend?”
Jack Hughes groans.
Not this shit again.
Was it really that strange for him to bring a friend home for the holidays?
A strictly platonic, no ulterior motives friend. A good friend, one who also saw him as nothing more than a friend.
He didn’t think so, but with how his family reacted, you would have thought he rode in on a unicycle dressed like a clown. All he did was invite a plus-one.
Sure, it was the first time since high school, but still. The sky didn’t turn purple, and Jack was pretty sure the planet would keep spinning. Not to mention, this is exactly what they wanted.
His family pestered him relentlessly about his love life—or, more accurately, a lack thereof—so he assumed they’d shift their interrogation to one or both of his brothers if he brought someone home, romantic or not.
The whole point of a “holidate” (you) tagging along was to avoid questions, not elicit more. His plan was back-firing.
Epically.
Though less evident in your presence, not once had anyone asked him something unrelated to you.
His great-aunt wanted to know how he asked you to be his girlfriend, and Husband #4 wanted to know how he tricked you into going out with him in the first place.
(Jack was offended by this. He thinks himself to be quite a catch.)
His gaggle of younger cousins needed to know when the wedding was and if they’d get to be in it, a line of questioning that quickly evolved into an open audition for Flower Girls and Ring Bearers.
The older ones weren’t any better. Their onslaught was overtly critical and lacked the endearing innocence of its predecessor. One had a problem with the gift he picked out for you (it wasn’t “romantic enough,” as if a sixteen-year-old even knew what that meant), and another was disappointed he hadn’t taken advantage of the mistletoe above the garage door. A few swiftly agreed you were too good for him after Jack let slip you decorated his apartment because he was too busy—and aesthetically-challenged.
His nana asked if he had "acquired a ring yet." When he told her he hadn’t, she offered one straight off her finger before he could explain why jewelry wasn’t necessary. She then launched into a spirited pitch for “finally getting some grandbabies.”
Apparently, the rest of his family had a hefty bet going on who out of the three brothers would settle down first. Quinn, by default as the eldest, seemed like a sure thing for a few years, but seeing as his date for this year’s Christmas Eve dinner was a six-pack of Bud Light, it wasn’t challenging to put Jack, unwittingly, in the lead.
“For the millionth time, she is not my girlfriend,” Jack replies, not bothering to water down his irritation.
His older brother was annoying, so that did factor into his sour mood, but Jack was mainly frustrated with his younger brother for robbing him of his holidate and monopolizing her charm for his gain.
If Luke wanted someone to cart around the room, he should’ve brought one of his own instead of stealing his. You agreed to be Jack’s smoke and mirrors, not his little brother’s.
The thief has you roped into a conversation with a second cousin’s fiancé surrounding her impending nuptials. He knows this because the interaction began with her holding out her left hand so you could admire the massive rock weighing down her ring finger. You’re listening attentively as she goes on and on about the frivolous details. At one point, she pulls out her phone to show you something, and you visibly and genuinely gush, a hand over your heart.
Luke looks bored but satisfied with himself.
Jack would be, too, if he had you as a human shield. Without a buffer, he was fair game.
Quinn smirks. “True, but you want her to be. Oh, that reminds me. If you are actually as platonic as you claim to be, you might want to remind Mom you need separate beds before she auctions off our guest room to the drunkest bidder. Unless, of course, curling up on Spider-Man sheets directly in front of a lifesize cardboard cutout of Crosby is some kind of freaky kink of yours.”
“Fuck off,” Jack hisses as he shoves his brother away from him.
“What? I don’t think it's that crazy to assume you’d get off on that, given how much of a die-hard you were growing up. You hero-worshiped the guy,” Quinn says between bouts of laughter. "I don't judge. Whatever foreplay you need, dude."
“Do me a favor, would’ya?” Quinn nods, too tipsy to see he’s walking straight into a trap. “Go bother literally anyone else before I dunk your head in the eggnog.”
He does, head thrown back, cackling at his younger brother’s melodramatic threat. Jack doesn’t care if Quinn makes fun of him so long as he does it from six feet away. At least.
“Thank you, again, for doing this. I know my family is a lot—and don't really understand the concept of boundaries," Jack says in greeting when you manage to slip away from Luke and back to his side.
Your expression lifts into a pretty smile.
“There’s no need to thank me, Jack. I’m enjoying myself. Everyone’s been so warm and welcoming.”
“Really?”
“Really,” you affirm with a nod. “Your family has been on their best behavior.”
That’s because they want you to join us indefinitely, Jack muses.
However, now that he’s thinking about it, you becoming a more permanent fixture of Hughes holidays wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. It might devolve into that for you eventually, but Jack would never tire of having you as an anchor.
He was already planning on asking if you were interested in tagging along next year, but why put an expiration date on the invitation? It's not like he would have an actual date to bring.
Before Jack can broach the subject, you’re pulled away by the herd of Flower Girl hopefuls. He expects you to look back with a pleading “Save me!” look in your eyes, but you don’t. You don’t even glance over your shoulder, already too engaged in whatever game of make-believe his cousins conjured up this time.
Jack's body warms as he stands in the corner of the living room. The happy kind of heat that spreads from your chest down to your toes and out to your fingertips. The kids are having a blast dancing between the couches and around the other guests, but you’re having just as much fun twirling them around. There’s so much giggling and smiling; it's infectious.
“Your girlfriend is a natural,” his dad says fondly as the children crowd you like their very own celebrity.
“Huh?” Jack murmurs, only half listening.
He’s too busy watching you hoist a giggling five-year-old into the infamous Dirty Dancing lift. Your arms are straight, glued to your ears. Jack smiles. He taught you that in his living room.
“Don’t let her be the one that gets away, okay?”
Jim wanders off to help his wife gather everyone for dinner, leaving Jack to chew on his dad’s request in solitude.
He winds himself so deeply into his head that he doesn’t notice you coming towards him until you’re face-to-face.
“Shall we?” you ask, eyes as bright as the tree behind you.
Jack nods, gulping down the strange feeling, and holds out his arm. He thinks he hears your breath catch as you thread your arm through to rest a hand in the crook of his elbow.
You’re probably just surprised and maybe even a little confused. He’s never overtly chivalrous with anyone unless it's for a bit. Or in front of his mom. Neither of which is at play presently. You're alone in the hallway.
Jack just felt like being a gentleman. It's the least he could do after talking you into spending the holiday weekend with his nutty family and their big mouths.
As Jack guides you through his childhood home, he does his best to ignore how much he likes the feeling of your shoulders brushing.
In the dining room, he pulls out a chair for you. While tucking you in, he catches his brothers mocking him in his peripheral vision.
Sensing his vexation, you snatch the bottle nearest you and fill a glass with wine. Wordlessly, you slide it into his palm. He takes half the heavy pour in one gulp and affectionately squeezes your shoulder. Immediately, Jack wishes he would’ve waited to do that until he could blame it on a buzz. It’s one simple touch, but that’s enough to make him feel like a complete weirdo.
He didn’t want you to misinterpret the gesture. Your friendship works so well because neither of you has tried to make it more. Maybe it was his anxiety talking, but Jack’s reasonably certain he’s wrecked everything.
The remainder of the wine goes quickly.
“But I wanted to sit next to her!” Jack’s youngest cousin whines to his aunt from across the table.
“You’ve hogged her all night, honey. She’s Jack’s date; we should let him spend time with her. Maybe she’ll help you build your fort later if you behave during dinner.”
You nod and wink at the little girl. She, aglow with glee, claps her little hands together. Her mother quietly mouths her gratitude to you.
“Who knew I was such a hot commodity?” you lean over and whisper to Jack.
It’s a lighthearted joke, but Jack feels a twinge of jealousy. He wasn’t a jealous person, especially with you. And, objectively, it was stupid to be upset over the demands of a child.
The sole purpose of a “holidate” is to shift the attention away from him and, presumably, onto you. Jack hadn’t thought about how possessive the blatant division of your attention would make him feel.
Something shifted tonight; he wants to be selfish with you.
As his mom pulls you into a conversation about your plans for New Year's Eve, Jack takes your hand in his. He waits for you to pull away. Instead, you squeeze his hand. Once, twice, then a final time. The fluttery nerves in his stomach dissipate.
Luke nudges Quinn, pointing his fork at your conjoined hands resting atop the table. They grin but say nothing.
Throughout the meal, his thumb absentmindedly rubs over yours. He hadn’t meant to, and when he realizes, Jack is hit with a sudden rush of clarity.
He isn’t bothered that everyone assumes you’re together; he’s bothered that you aren’t.
The epiphany terrifies him.
The feeling of falling in love is very much like the feeling of a nightmare, like being sucked into an all-consuming black hole, entirely at its mercy and unable to save yourself.
He worries that once he starts falling, he might never stop. He’ll lose his bearings and his mind along with them. Jack couldn’t handle that kind of uncertainty. He couldn’t imagine forfeiting so much control over his own life.
Jack never wanted to fall in love, but he already had.
After dinner, Ellen sends the two of you to fetch more firewood from the shed. He can feel your unease as he trudges through the snow ahead of you.
It rose to the surface when he yanked his hand away before dessert and mounted steadily the quieter he became. You attempted to coax him into small talk with witty jokes and anecdotes from the time you spent separated tonight, but he couldn’t bring himself to participate much, if at all.
Eventually, you gave up and turned back to his mom for conversation. Jack didn’t blame you. He wasn’t the best company.
“Jack?” Your voice quivers.
It’s distant, literally and figuratively. He wonders when you stopped walking, but it doesn’t matter.
He halts his movements, but he’s too afraid to turn around. If he sees your eyes, he might say something he won’t be able to take back.
“Did I do something wrong? I feel like you’re mad at me. Or, at the very least, upset with me. Please, Jack, tell me what’s wrong so that I can fix it.”
His heart sprinters at your sincerity. In an instant, Jack relinquishes his fears and strides across the yard to cup your face with his hands. Your cheeks are freezing, but so are his palms. There are tears in your eyes threatening to spill over and meet his touch. He’s so close he can smell your perfume, perforated by his shampoo that you borrowed this morning.
Strange look on his face, he whispers as though divulging his most intimate secret, “You’re my best friend.”
Because, in every way that matters, he is.
The dam breaks, then. Salty streams escape your eyes, slipping between your lower lashes to pool on his fingers. If it weren’t for the faint smile pulling on your lips, Jack would’ve thought you didn’t understand what he meant or that you didn't feel the same.
“I know,” you tell him softly. “You’re mine, too.”
Jack doesn’t even get to react before your lips catch his. He repays your courage so instantaneously and urgently that your mutual admission hasn’t fully sunk in when his tongue slips in to greet yours.
You fist his sweater as if he might pull away any second. Jack strokes his thumbs over your skin to assure you he won’t. Now—or ever.
This kiss—wonderful and everything—is the culmination of every smile shared in confidence, every terrible karaoke duet, countless movie marathons, and too many midnights to count. It feels so natural, so obvious. How he never once thought you’d arrive here is an enigma.
A chorus of whistles and applause erupts from the back porch.
Embarrassed, you attempt to separate from him, but Jack’s insistent lips persuade you to stay despite the growing audience. Now that he’s gotten a taste—of both your mouth and honest affection, Jack’s not budging for anything.
When he was a kid, his mom told him that people only get a few “snow globe moments” in their lifetime. Perfect glimmers of happiness that you want to encase in a bubble and keep pristine forever. Jack never knew what she meant, not really.
Not until you kissed him.
“Fucking finally!” Quinn shouts.
Behind your back, Jack flips him the bird.

Until I Found You (Sirius Orion Black)
So, I was listening to this song that I just found on Tiktok. And whilst I was listening to it, I thought of Sirius. The song is called "Until I Found You" by Stephen Sanchez. You should listen to it, guys. It made me feel sad because it made me realize that these fictional characters will never come to life and forever live inside my mind.

*****
It was late at night, and it was snowing outside the manor. It's Christmas Holiday that's why James and I were home. I couldn't sleep due to the excitement I was feeling. Christmas Holidays are my favorite holiday season. Not because I get to receive gifts from my family and friends. But it was because of our tradition to spend the rest of the day together.
This was special to me because our parents always work in the Ministry and they are barely home, leaving me and James alone. But since we started going to Hogwarts, it was a little less lonely to be left at the manor all the time.
I could wake James up so I may have some company. We can probably go to the kitchen so we could make hot chocolate like we always do. But it made me think that we weren't kids anymore. James is almost in his seventh year. Leaving me alone when he starts to graduate next school year.
I brushed off the sad feeling and went closer to sit on my huge window sill. I look up into the dark sky as I watch the snowflakes fall off the sky. Then suddenly someone caught my eye as I look down at the ground.
He was quite familiar so I opened my window to take a closer look. I was surprised when I saw him. His face. His figure standing in front of our doorstep, he looks hesitant to knock on our door. But what was he doing here? Wasn't he supposed to be home with his parents?
He looks cold. Well, who wouldn't be? It was late at night and it was snowing. Merlin's beard, I can't let him freeze to death.
Instead of calling out his name from here, I decided to open the doorstep for him. Besides, James would be delighted to see him. Even mum and dad would be.
I grabbed my coat and went downstairs. Without any hesitation, I opened the door. And there he was... He's handsome face with his hair that's quite long but it looked so good at him. He was shaking so I throw him James' coat that I went to get earlier in our coat closet near the stairs.
"Y/N--"
"Just go inside, Sirius. It's bloody snowing unless you want to freeze to death?" He grinned at me and then went inside. He followed me quietly into our sitting room.
"I'm going to make some hot chocolate and wake James to--"
"Don't!" I raised my eyebrows at him. He cleared his throat before he went to speak again. "It's late, isn't it? I don't want to bother James as much as I already bothered you."
"You aren't a bother. You are my brother's best friend. And as much as I hate to admit it, you're pretty much part of the family." He smiled at my words and shook his head.
"Family... I wouldn't go that far." I saw the bitter look on his face. I remembered that Sirius isn't exactly on good terms with his parents.
"Do you... Do you want to talk about it? I'll just make us some hot chocolate." I couldn't help but feel bad for him. He seems fine every time we see each other in the corridors even in the Gryffindor Common Room.
He smiled and nodded as his response. He sat on one of the sofas whilst I went to the kitchen to make some hot chocolate. When I return to the sitting room, he's eyes were closed. I placed the tray on the coffee table and sat beside him. I shake him a bit to wake him up.
"Sorry." He opened his eyes. I gave him the mug, and he took it from me and drank it. "You'd make an excellent wife."
I rolled my eyes at him as I drink my hot chocolate. I waited for him to speak. I didn't want to pry if he doesn't want to talk about it.
"I ran away from home. It wasn't even my home in the first place. I didn't know where to go but... I thought of James. I thought of you. So... here I am." There was sadness in his voice. I couldn't find words to comfort him, so I reached out for his hand and held them.
"You should stay here, Sirius. James, mum, and dad would love to have you here. You're quite annoying--just imagining you and my brother together living in here would be hell for me. But... I guess I wouldn't mind." I tried to smile at him.
"I can't..."
"And why is that?"
"I do not belong in here. Mr. and Mrs. Potter wouldn't like to have me here--"
"Are you mad? I just told you that mum and dad wouldn't mind." He wasn't still convinced so I told him to stay for the night and see it for himself.
"I am not sleeping in your room." He protested, but before saying another word, I took his wrist and dragged him into my bedchamber.
"Don't be such a wuss, Black. Besides, you wouldn't do such unpleasant things to me. You wouldn't want to get yourself killed, wouldn't you?" I teased him. I saw him roll his eyes me then followed me inside my room.
"I can sleep on the floor." He was pointing to the floor beside my bed.
"It's cold. Sleep beside me." I patted my mattress. He was quite amused by me. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Are you sure you're not making a move on me? I mean, I wouldn't mind except James is going to kill me." He was smirking once again. He's back.
"Shut it. Just like you said, James is going to kill you if you do." I rolled my eyes and watched him lay beside me before turning off the lamp beside me.
I placed my pillow between us to avoid any physical contact. I turned to face him and saw that he was already looking at me.
"Goodnight, Sirius." I gave him a soft smile before closing my eyes as I drift off to sleep.
Sirius's POV
She bid me goodnight before closing her eyes. She looks like an angel when she sleeps. She looks peaceful and merlin, if she wasn't James's little sister--I would ask her out. She drives me insane.
Before running away from home, all I could think of...was her. I wanted to see her. She's my very being. I didn't know I would fall in love this hard. I went with a lot of girls. I flirt with them non-stop. But no one made me feel this way as she does.
I couldn't sleep. All I can do was look at her beautiful face. I made sure she was in a deep slumber when I reached out to touch her face and caress it, softly. Unknowingly, my lips formed a soft smile.
"Goodnight, Y/N."
Reader's POV
I hugged my pillow tightly as I inhaled on it. But it was weird when I felt that my pillow was warm. My pillows in the morning were usually cold...and fluffy. This isn't fluffed or soft. Why does my pillow feel like it did some training to get muscular?
I slowly opened my eyes to see a nearly bare chest in front of me. I felt my pillow move and saw that my head was on top of his arm. I moved my head and saw his jaw clenched a bit, his adam's apple moved. He was sleeping, comfortably.
Merlin... Why is he so handsome? Even when he sleeps, he is still so damn attractive. I could feel my cheeks warm as I look at him like he is the most beautiful painting I see every time I go to museums.
I brushed off my thoughts because I need to get up before James catch us. Especially, he didn't know that his best friend is here sleeping in my bedchamber. I turned around to move so I could get up. But a strong arm grabbed my waist and held me tightly. I could feel his warm chest behind my back. His breathing sent me shivers in my body. His soft lips are so close to my nape.
I held my breath and a part of me does not want to get out of his embrace. I wanted to stay for a while. Praying that neither James nor my parents would enter my bedchamber.
But it was Christmas Eve. They would wonder why I haven't woken up early because it was always me who woke them up. Seeing, the clock, it was 7:30 in the morning.
Shit. I was supposed to wake them up an hour ago. Oh no...
My door was opened up, aggressively, and saw my brother, who had just woken up in a grumpy mood.
"Oi! Why the bloody hell--SIRIUS?!" If he could drop his jaw, he would've done it right now.
Sirius moved a bit, only to hold me close. Merlin, his best friend is about to kill him right now, on Christmas Eve, and he's still in his deep slumber.
Using my strength, I moved away from his embrace and finally stood up. That's when Sirius is finally waking up, slowly. I went to James to stop him from getting any closer to Sirius.
"James, stop!" But he gently moved me away from him.
When Sirius finally came to his senses, he saw James and how furious he was. And poor him, because he hasn't got any idea why his best friend was furious. Since I moved away from him before he could realize that he was holding me tightly in his embrace.
"James?" He received a morning fist in his face from James.
"Bloody hell! What was that for?!" He wiped a small amount of blood on the side of his lips.
"Why are you here in my sister's bedchamber? And most importantly, WHY ARE YOU SLEEPING BESIDE HER?!" James was shouting. I heard footsteps behind and turned around to see our parents.
"What is going on in here?" Dad asked. He was still sleepy but woken up when he saw Sirius was on my bed. "What is Black doing in here?"
My mum walked past James and went beside Sirius. She cast a worrying look on her face when she saw there was a cut on his lips. She held his face and examined him.
"Dear, what happened?" Mum asked him. James was surprised that mum ignored dad's question and the fact that Sirius was on my bed.
"It's nothing, Mrs. Potter. I felt like I deserved that punch." He looked at his best friend. James glared daggers at him and then turned to look at me.
"Outside. Now!" He walked out of my room without looking at mum and Sirius, even dad who was standing in my doorway with crossed arms, I followed him.
We were in our manor's garden. It was hard to walk when the snow was thick to walk through. My brother stopped walking and looked at me. He was angry, really angry. I didn't speak and waited for him to go first.
"How long has this been going on? Tell me, now!"
"You are not my mother, to begin with, James. And for your information, nothing is going on between us!" I crossed my arms at him.
"Then why is he here?! I saw him cuddling you! My little sister--I swear if he did it with you--"
"I'm going to stop you right there. Sirius respects me because I'm your sister! And I think you should hear him out and ask him why he's here..." I stopped talking because I don't think that I am the right person to tell Sirius' situation right now.
James didn't much talk after our argument but quietly went inside to see mum giving Sirius some milk and pancakes for breakfast. We have a house-elf, so it was quite surprising to see mum serving Sirius his breakfast.
James, beside me, was still angry. I could feel that he wants to murder his best friend. Dad was also glaring at Sirius. When our eyes met, he sent me a look, who needs saving. I only mouthed him 'sorry'.
We went to the table and James quickly took the seat beside me. He made sure that I didn't sit beside or in front of Sirius.
"There you are, both of you. Y/N, dear, why haven't you woke us up earlier? It's unusual for you to sleep that long when you know it's Christmas Eve." Mum placed a plate of pancakes for me and James before sitting in front of me.
"I slept late last night," I answered then took a bite of my breakfast. Then mum turned her attention to Sirius beside her.
"So, Sirius..." Mum looked at him. You could see that he was nervous. I felt like I needed to apologize to him because I was the one who forced him to stay for the night and made him sleep beside me.
"Yes, ma'am?" He tried to keep his voice calm and looked at me. I gave him an assuring look but our eye contact was broken when James nudged me under the table using his thigh.
"James!" I hissed at him, not loud enough so that mum wouldn't mind us. Merlin, I was just making sure Sirius feels that they're not eating them alive with their eyes. Especially, dad, who had not stopped glaring at him.
"When did you arrive here? My children haven't told me anything that you're coming here--before Christmas day! Surely, your mother is okay with you here?"
He was quiet for a moment before he answers mum's questions. I continued to eat as they waited for his answer.
"I... I, uh, ran away from home..." He awkwardly smiled. Mum's smile faded, and James and dad stopped glaring at him. They avoided Sirius's gaze and continue to eat.
Mum was emotional especially at her age, so she immediately hugged Sirius whilst wiping her tears. Sirius didn't know what to do, so he just patted mum's back, comforting her.
*****
We were preparing for a small party here in the manor. Whilst, James was still mad at his best friend because of the incident earlier, we all decided to let Sirius stay here until he graduates from Hogwarts.
I was staring in the mirror wearing a red party dress. The dress made my curves look visible. I almost couldn't breathe because mum tightened the corset earlier. Whilst I was trying to adjust my corset a little bit more, someone knocked on my door.
"Come in!" I called out. I saw Sirius opening the door, together with James. They were already wearing their party dress. By the looks of it, they already made up. I knew my brother has a soft spot for Sirius.
"Seems like you old married couple already work things out." I teased them as they rolled their eyes at me. They grinned at me, making me realize the situation I am about to endure for two years.
"Oh, shut up or I'm going to tell mum that you're trying to adjust your corset that she wanted to tighten so bad."
"Don't make me hex you, James."
"You can't do that. You're not allowed to do magic." He widened his grin which made me annoyed. Sirius was enjoying our bickering.
Merlin, why's my brother in his sixth year yet acting like a first-year?
I stopped adjusting my corset and went to them. They lend their arms to me and looped mine into theirs. We made our way downstairs, laughing together.
The party continued together with mum and dad's co-workers. James never left at my side which was annoying because he even wanted to come with me to the bathroom. I guess he never wants to leave me alone with Sirius.
But it doesn't matter anymore because Sirius was ambushed by our parents' co-workers as they were surprised to see a member of Black at the party.
"You should rescue him. He looks like he doesn't like the crowd surrounding him." I whispered to my brother. I saw a woman that looked in her early 20s approach, Sirius. She was beautiful. Her beautiful curly brunette hair. A type of woman that usually gets the guys falling to their knees.
The woman clings to his arm. This took him by surprise but smiled at the woman, genuinely. Something inside me ached and was stabbed by a sharp knife. He was clearly flirting with her.
My smile faded as I remember the incident earlier. His arms were wrapped around me, his lips almost kissing the back of my neck.
But what did I expect? He is Sirius Black. A guy in my school almost wanted to date every girl and flirted with them continuously. Maybe, I am a fool for also falling for it.
Maybe he didn't realize earlier that he was hugging me in his sleep. Maybe he was thinking of someone else. Maybe...
"Y/N, are you alright?" I came back to my senses when James nudged me. I looked at him and tried my best to smile.
"Yes... I'm tired, James. Can I turn in early?"
"Are you sure? It's almost Christmas. You never wanted to sleep early on this occasion. What's the matter?" James cast a worried look on his face. But I held his shoulder and assured him that I was alright.
"Well, if you say so... I'll take you upstairs."
"No need, brother. Goodnight." I tiptoed and kissed my brother's cheek before making my way through my bedchamber.
I closed the door behind me and leaned on it. I slowly sat on the floor, embracing my legs as I stop myself from crying. What a fool I am for believing that there was something behind his actions.
I have always fancied him since I was in my third year and he was in his fourth year. I never admitted it since I knew James wouldn't approve of it. So, I decided to date other guys just to forget that I have feelings for him. But it turns out that no matter how hard I try to date as I want... I never gave up on him.
I never did...
I don't how long I was sitting but then I hear someone knock on the door behind me. I didn't answer to let them know that I was already sleeping.
"Y/N?" The moment I heard his voice, I leaned towards the door, waiting for him to continue. "Hey, I don't know if you're already sleeping. I could've greeted you with a Happy Christmas later in the morning but I feel like I needed to see you before I go to bed."
Sirius's POV
After escaping those who surrounded me earlier, I finally need to see her. It was almost midnight and I wanted to give her a present early before she goes to bed. So, I decided to find James. I knew that he didn't want to leave her sister's side.
"James." I reached for his shoulder. I saw that Y/N wasn't beside him. "Where is she?"
"She turned in early. Quite unusual. Unless...you did something to her--"
"Calm down, mate. You know I would never touch your sister." Even if I want her to be mine.
"You were cuddling her this morning. Don't you think I forgot about that?" He was still quite annoyed about the incident earlier. But it was understandable.
"I'll make it up to you by helping you together with Evans." I grinned at him as he rolled his eyes at me but I knew he was blushing deep inside.
I was getting impatient and wanted the party to end as soon as possible. I can't sneak upstairs because these people are keeping me, James especially. So, when it finally ended, I didn't wait for my best friend and went upstairs. The next thing I know is that I was standing at her door.
Holding a small red velvet box, I put it in my trousers' pocket before knocking on her door. I don't know if she was sleeping or still awake but I couldn't wait.
"Y/N?" She didn't answer but I continued to talk anyway. Something tells me that she wasn't asleep yet. "Hey, I don't know if you're already sleeping. I could've greeted you with a Happy Christmas later in the morning but I feel like I needed to see you before I go to bed."
Taking a deep breath, I sat on the floor and leaned my back on the door.
"Happy Christmas, Y/N. It's funny how I wanted this holiday is to spend with you, alone... That would be a good present for this year, don't you think? And I am sorry about this morning. I shouldn't hold you like that when I know that it was one-sided all along but--" I didn't get the chance to finish my words as I felt my back hitting a hardwood floor.
Reader's POV
So, he did know that he was cuddling me this morning. I stood up, opening the door for him when his back started to hit the floor.
"Shit. I'm sorry. Are you okay?" I kneeled as he was looking me upside down. He gave me an annoying grin. "Too bad, I was hoping you hit your head hard that you wouldn't be able to remember anything."
He stood up and fixed himself before lending his hand to me to take it--which I took as he helped me to stand up.
"You're still awake."
"That's because you were loud..."
"I wasn't even that loud, love." He closed the door behind him. After that, he pulled me closer. My hands were on his chest whilst his hands were on my waist.
"What are you doing, Sirius? Get rid of me and stop calling me that." I was getting nervous. A part of me hated myself for opening the door to him. I was still quite mad about the scene earlier. He was bloody flirting with that woman.
So, I tried to pull away from him but he was too strong for me. Maybe it would be a nice idea if I hit his family gem, don't you think?
"You were nice to me last night. And now you want to get rid of me? Make up your mind, woman."
"That's because you're bloody annoying! You held me earlier then proceeds to flirt with a woman who's like three to four years older than you! I know you're a flirt--you're even known for it! Making girls cry after you got what you want for satisfying yourself." I clenched his cloth, not looking at him.
Why am I crying?
"And now... I won't fall for your words. I'm sure you've told that to a couple of women, already. I'm not an idiot. I am not." He started to hold my wrists that were placed on his chest then he leaned down his forehead into my head.
"I know... You're not an idiot. You are Y/N Euphemia Potter. The girl that I really fell in love with. James knew about these feelings I have for you. But you know your brother. He didn't want me to get involved with you. So, I went out with a couple of girls just to be sure that I was only infatuated with you." He started to cup my face and slowly made me face him. He was wiping my tears using his thumb.
"But it wasn't just an infatuation. I was falling in love with you. Deeply. James told me that I didn't need to prove to him that I was serious about you. Because whatever your judge will be yours. That it will be your decision. Not mine nor his."
"Now, tell me. Would you give me a chance? I know that I am a jackass, an annoying piece of shit, an immature prat--whatever you want to call me." I laughed softly at his words as he did the same. "But I would give you everything that I have. I swore that I would not fall in love again unless it was you. This is how I am deeply madly in love with you. You don't know that there isn't a day that I can't stop thinking about you since I found you."
He slipped his arm to my waist while the other remained on my cheek. He went closer to my face, smelling a faint of sparkling wine in his breath.
"What would be your answer?"
"You do know that dad and James would hex you if you break my heart, right?"
"I'm taking my chances, love. But it hurts me to think that I would hurt you." He gave his annoying puppy eyes.
"You were flirting earlier..."
"Ah, jealous already? I was being nice but I wouldn't go that far." He placed a kiss on my nose which took me by surprise.
"Happy Christmas, Sirius. And this will be your present." Remembering his words earlier, I tiptoed and gave him a soft kiss on his lips. I was about to pull away as I meant the kiss to only last for two seconds. But he pulled me deeper. Kissing me like there's no tomorrow.
Once he pulled away, he reached for his pocket, revealing a small red velvet box. He opened it and saw a beautiful ring. It wasn't just any ring--it was designed with small-shaped stars.
"You're not proposing to me, are you?"
"Not yet. But don't worry I'm planning to. Maybe after you graduate from Hogwarts?" He winked at me then removed the ring from the box and placed it on my ring finger. "It suits you perfectly." Then he proceeds to kiss the back of my hand.
*****
Did I do good? I feel like I ended the story, badly. But still enjoy. I promise I'll make it up to you guys! Thank you for supporting me, especially those people who continuously keep reading my one-shot on Tumblr.
Peace out!

don’t let me go (6) - thomas bordeleau
word count: 1.2k words
note: it’s short but part 7 is coming on tuesday😌 (also love u all thank u for the support on this <3)
prev. part / next part
“Please Mommy!” Jacob whined, tugging on your arm lightly as he gazed longingly at the hockey store that you were planning on passing by. You were at the mall to find a birthday present for your younger brother; it was supposed to be a quick trip but Jacob had already dragged you into two different toy stores.
“No buddy, we have to find Uncle Max a gift, we’re running low on time” The quick mall trip was supposed to be a stop on your way to dinner with Mackie. The weekend had finally come to an end which meant all the boys were ready to leave Michigan once again. You had avoided the group ever since the first night, more importantly avoiding Thomas. Matty had been bothering you to talk to Thomas but you weren’t even sure where to start.
“Uncle Max likes hockey!” Jacob exclaims, still trying to drag you into the store.
“Fine but no jersey for you” Your son had an overflowing closet of jerseys (half of which are from Mackie, Luke, Ethan, or Owen) and you had finally started to crack down on him getting any more.
“Can I get a shirt? Or-” You laugh as he starts to list off anything and everything in the store. You let him ramble as you mull around the store, finally finding a gift for your brother and now focusing on getting Jacob out of the store.
“Woah! There’s sticks!” Jacob drops your hand and runs to the stick section so of course you follow after him, trailing slowly as you balance your brother’s gift and the two shirts Jacob had already talked you into buying.
“Jacob? Where’d you go?” You panicked for a second when you lost him in the aisles.
“Woah, bad mom alert!” You spun around to find Brendan smirking at you. “He’s over there with Matty” Brendan motions behind him where you now see Jacob playing around with a stick as Matty pretends to battle with him for a puck.
“We’ve gotta go, where’s Matty?” Your eyes widen when you hear Thomas. He was on his phone so he didn’t see you standing there until he’d finished his sentence. Your eyes locked and he stopped in his tracks as your mind raced a million miles an hour. You wanted to talk to him, to figure things out, but you didn’t want to do that with Jacob here. Also, not knowing where Thomas was at in terms of how he felt was terribly frustrating.
“Mommy! Matty said he would buy me this stick” Jacob came running over, hoisting the stick up in the air. You watched as Thomas saw his son for the first time, his eyes were wide and you could tell he was a little overwhelmed. “Who are you?”
“You already have a stick babe, you don’t need another” Jacob was barely playing hockey now so he definitely didn’t need more than the one stick he’d gotten for Christmas.
“But this is from Matty!” You give him a look when his whiny voice reappears which makes him drop it just as fast. “Are you Brisk?” He turns to Brendan who he clearly recognized from the pictures that the boys had shown him.
“It’s Briss, buddy” Matty supplies.
“Oh! You’re Bordy-low. My Uncle Max watches your games” Jacob grins. Your eyes immediately go to Thomas who looks a few seconds away from tears but you’re hoping it’s for a good reason.
“Can we talk?” Now, everyone’s attention snaps to Thomas who looks just as shocked that he said something. “Sorry… I uh- if you want? Can we talk before I leave?” Thomas lowered his voice a little, almost growing a little shy.
“Yeah of course” You had to conceal your excitement that he was open to talking to you at all. “We’re just heading to dinner but…”
“You’re meeting Mackie right? He told me earlier. I can take Jacob to him and you can just meet them after” Matty suggested and you were uneasy at first but with Jacob’s pleading eyes, you caved.
“Is now fine?” You ask Thomas who hesitates before nodding.
“Put the stick back and go with Matty, okay?” You bend down to talk to Jacob who nods slowly.
“Are you going to talk to Bordy-low?”
“Bordeleau, babe” You correct, missing the three boys smiling at each other above you.
“Get Uncle Max a picture Mommy” He says excitedly and you laugh a little before nodding.
“Alright I’ll try, now go, Mackie will be waiting for you” Jacob gives you a hug before running off with Matty, leaving you alone with Brendan and Thomas.
…
Brendan was quick to ditch you and Thomas, claiming he had to go meet the boys which you hadn’t fought at all. “I want to know everything” He said as soon as you were alone. You walked him through the same story you had told Matty only days before.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Was his first question. He had waited until you were done which you were surprised by, it showed how much he’d actually grown over the past four years because college Thomas would not have had the willpower for that.
“You had so much ahead of you, I didn’t want to ruin it. You were just starting your career and I know how much pressure you felt” Thomas was insanely stressed during his last little bit at Michigan and you knew it.
“That doesn’t justify not telling me about our child” His expression was unreadable but his voice had an edge to it which clued you in that he was mad.
“I was scared! You were gone and I was all alone”
“You don’t think I was scared? I was alone too Y/n, and then all of a sudden you were ignoring me. I was terrified that I wasn’t going to be good enough and the one person I could actually talk about that kind of stuff was just gone. How do you think that made me feel?”
“Thomas…” You said quietly, suddenly feeling nothing but pity for the boys standing in front of you.
“No, don’t ‘Thomas’ me, you left me. You left me and now I find out it’s because you were pregnant? I should have been there”
“It wasn’t because I was pregnant. We only knew each other for what, six months? We both knew that what was coming and I just thought you leaving would be easier if it was a clean break”
“Did the six months not mean anything to you then?” He asked and you weren’t sure what to say, you were shocked that he would even ask that. The time you spent with Thomas was probably your happiest memories from college and it hurt for him to insinuate otherwise. However, at the same time… this isn’t about you or your relationship.
“Look Thomas, at the end of the day, this isn’t about us. We can talk about it another time but they’re waiting for me and I really need to go but here’s the bottom line. If you want to be in Jacob’s life, I am totally in support of it and I swear, we’ll figure it out together. If you don’t, you have a chance to walk away, you can leave and pretend you never found out, I won’t hold it against you”
“I want to be involved. I want to know my son”

The Perfect Match Part 4 || Taylor and Cale Makar
Summary: When Taylor Makar meets Elizabeth “Liezel” Estroff he quickly discovers how compatible she is with his older brother Cale. Despite his parents early protestation to leave well enough alone, Taylor makes it his mission to set Cale up with his perfect match.
Authors Note: I finally finished another part!!! Seeing Taylor at the celebrations last night was clearly good for the muse. (Though my lord bud you need to shave please - Liezel would agree with me.) This takes us through the end of the hockey regular season and features a few new guests ;) FC Claim: Kirrilee Berger. Can’t wait to hear what you think of this one and everything to come.
Warnings: minor cursing // Word Count: 3,195
After finals, Liezel and Taylor had met up for coffee before Taylor flew back to Calgary to spend his break with his family. He’d been home for less than 24 hours before a Mark Logan was following her Instagram and Taylor was warning her to not take anything his cousin commented seriously. Cautiously, Liezel had followed back and it wasn’t long before her stories were filled with videos of Taylor goofing off with his cousin. That was good for him though, he needed that to decompress and Liezel smiled as she shot Taylor a message that she supposed she didn’t have to worry about Harding getting him into trouble if he could handle his cousin.
For the next few days, text messages were exchanged sporadically and Liezel smiled glad that Taylor was getting some much-needed time in an environment that was loving and supportive.
Liezel was sitting down wrapping Christmas presents when her phone buzzed repeatedly. Taping the present she was on so that the paper wouldn’t go flying, she picked up her phone and saw a string of videos from Taylor. As soon as she pressed play on the first she heard the clanging of metal that indicated he was in a weight room and his sweaty face appeared commenting on how they were getting that Christmas grind in before the holiday and their cheat days.
In the second video, she could see Mark doing Mark like things flexing and being just extra as he benched weights.
It was the third video that caught Liezel a little bit off guard. Taylor’s face appeared again and he softly stated that he had someone he wanted to introduce her to. Suddenly the video shifted and her screen was full of a third man who had his shirt lifted up to wipe sweat from his brow showing off a soft but sculpted torso.
“Hey Cale, say hi to Liezel.” Taylor’s voice declared and as the shirt fell back down his body, Liezel was indirectly introduced to the one and only big brother Taylor talked about all the time, Cale.
After a bit of an inaudible grumble, an equally soft but deeper voice met her ears and Liezel blinked as Cale said a brief hello and wished her a Merry Christmas. The video cut off there and Liezel found herself needing an extra moment before closing it and shooting Taylor a ‘looks like a blast, enjoy your cheat days’ in reply.
It wasn’t like she hadn’t seen Taylor’s brother on her tv screen numerous times before, but there was something about that video that left her feeling slightly bothered in a way she couldn’t describe.
Liezel had hoped that the break at home with his family would help Taylor take that next step that would solidify his spot in the UMass lineup. Yet that didn’t seem to be the case. As they neared the end of January, Taylor had only played two games since the Christmas break. Liezel knew that he was trying to keep his spirits up and just keep grinding but at the same time watching all of his teammates playing and scoring their first goals wore on him.
When he texted that he was in the lineup tonight, Liezel smiled and sent back her usual ‘go kick ass’ before logging onto her computer to get a ticket to the away game. She didn’t always go to Taylor’s games but for some reason, she had a good feeling about this one and Lowell wasn’t too far away.
Wearing just a hoodie and some medium wash jeans along with a pair of tennis shoes, Liezel made her way through Lowell’s arena to her seat just hoping that the good feeling she had was well-founded. She could care less about how the game went so long as Taylor played well.
Through the first Liezel sighed with every offside play and as Taylor tripped over and bumped into teammates. Things still didn’t feel like they were fully clicking though she wasn’t sure if it was Taylor’s read that was bad or his teammates. Early into the second, she watched as Taylor crashed the net and….THE PUCK WENT IN! Letting out a silent shriek of joy, Liezel watched as the other players on the ice mobbed Taylor in excitement. Her joy quickly turned to a groan though as the refs declared the play under review for goalie interference. Of course, it couldn’t be that easy. Taking her glasses off, Liezel rubbed at her eyes as the refs called the goal back. This was just Taylor’s luck.
Liezel knew that Taylor was either going to score again this game or this game might just be what broke the camel’s back on his season. She watched as he continued to drive the net, continued to push, continued to fight for the puck and the ball of nerves in her belly grew bigger and bigger by the minute. At one point, a puck bounced off the upper half of his body and almost went in and Liezel slumped further in her seat wondering if the game was really going to go this way.
Almost halfway through the third, Taylor again drove to the net and it popped off immediately making Liezel sigh once more. She just wanted him to score. He was playing well and god he deserved to have a puck go in and count damn it. With 6:30 remaining on the clock, Taylor waited for the faceoff, the puck popping out to the point before back down into the slot. Liezel watched with bated breath as Taylor followed it, avoiding all bodies on the ice before sniping it past the goalie. This time her cheer was audible and she flushed a bit at the attention it drew as she settled back into her seat. He finally did it! His first collegiate goal! Liezel had never been happier watching him celebrate and now she could care less what happened in the remaining minutes of the game.
As the clock ticked down Liezel snapped a picture of Taylor on the bench texting it to him with the caption ‘what a shot!’ When the buzzer sounded, she gathered her coat but remained in her seat letting the building and some of the traffic clear out.
She was just about to exit the building when her phone rang and Taylor’s name popped up on the screen along with the picture from their night out during finals. Before she could even say hello, Taylor’s voice came hurried through the speaker.
“Wait. Were you here?” He questioned making her laugh and lean against the nearest wall.
“If by here you mean your game tonight, yes. Was just about to head out.” There was a bit of background noise before Taylor’s voice came through hurriedly.
“Wait, don’t leave. Come down.”
Looking around, Liezel bit her lip.
“I don’t exactly know where I’d be going Tay.” She declared. Hearing Taylor talk to someone in the background she then followed his directions to a stairwell heading down to a lower level. It was weird being here and she didn’t think she was really supposed to be but after walking in a bit of a circle she finally heard Taylor’s voice in person and not just through the phone. He was already dressed in just a t-shirt, pullover, and sweats, and seeing him, Liezel ran up to him and threw her arms around him.
Taylor’s arms wrapped around her just as tightly and he lifted her off the ground before carefully setting her back down.
“Can’t believe you’re here. What are you doing here?” He asked softly, his lips right next to her ear.
“You said you were playing and I just had a good feeling,” Liezel replied, rubbing his back softly. “And I was right.” She added pulling back to beam up at him. Taylor’s cheeks grew a little bit pinker and Liezel continued to smile just watching him as he enjoyed the moment. Soon though he had to go and Liezel reached out pulling him back for just a moment.
“What do you want to eat?” She questioned still fully planning on making him a post-game meal when she got back to her place. Hearing him say that he didn’t care made her chuckle and she murmured that she’ll see him in a few hours before moving to head for her car.
Hopefully, Taylor could ride this game into the foreseeable future.
Mark: So how many tickets is Cale getting you to the Boston game?
Taylor: Idk probably just one…why?
Mark: Just figured you’d be taking a certain someone. ;)
Taylor: You know Liezel and I aren’t dating.
Mark: Duh idiot. But you want her to meet Cale don’t you.
Taylor: oh. yeah. That’s a good point.
Mark: I know. Calesy won’t think anything of it either and I’m assuming she wouldn’t either so it wouldn’t feel like a set up. Golden opportunity man I’m telling you.
Taylor: Thanks
Mark: Don’t say I don’t have your back cuz.
Taylor: 🙄
*****
Taylor: Have you requested tickets yet for the Boston game?
Cale: Not yet.
Cale: Who is bugging you for a ticket?
Taylor: No one. Well not yet at least.
Taylor: Just let me know before you do please, I might be wanting to bring a friend.
Cale: If you’re referring to Liezel you know you don’t have to call her ‘a friend’
Taylor: Noted…
Taylor: So Monday….any restaurant preferences in Boston?
Liezel: What are you talking about?
Taylor: Monday. Avs game in Boston. Figured we’d get dinner before coming back.
Liezel: Who is we?
Taylor: C’mon Liezel really.
Liezel: Uh I have a conference…
Taylor: No you don’t.
Liezel: yeah…I do…all weekend into Monday.
Taylor: You did not tell me about this.
Liezel: *attaches a screenshot of prior conversation dated February 6th informing Taylor of the conference over president’s day weekend*
*****
Taylor: She has a conference.
Taylor: It goes all the way through Monday.
Taylor: Fuck.
Mark: Well that sucks.
Mark: Guess you’re going to have to figure out another time to introduce them…and good luck with that.
Liezel: Longest weekend ever. Finally home from the conference.
Liezel: Hope you had fun at the game.
Liezel: Sucks the avs lost.
*****
Liezel: I’m totally judging you if you forgot to take a phone charger.
Liezel: Text me back when you finally see these Tay.
*****
Liezel: I think Taylor is mad at me.
Katie: oh boy…trouble in paradise. What happened?
Liezel: I couldn’t go with him to the avs game in Boston because I had my conference.
Liezel: Like I told him about the conference long before he ever mentioned the game
Katie: I believe you. Why do you think he’s mad?
Liezel: I got left on read. At first I thought his phone had just died but then the messages all went to read status and still no reply.
Katie: oof.
Katie: He’s probably upset.
Katie: I mean I swear the boy likes you even though you say things aren’t like that.
Katie: He probably wanted more than to just take you to the game, he probably wanted you to meet his brother and get Cale’s approval.
Katie: And it’s not like Cale will be back in Boston any time soon. That won’t be until next season barring a Finals matchup.
Liezel: He doesn’t like me, not like that. I don’t know how many times I have to tell you.
Liezel: So what do I do?
Katie: Not sure there is anything you can do. Just give him some time, he’ll get over it.
Katie: He’ll probably text you back tomorrow if I had to guess.
Katie: Don’t stress over it.
Liezel: I’ll try.
Katie: And if it’ll make you feel better if he doesn’t text you tomorrow let me know and I’ll have Jer hit him into the boards at practice.
Liezel: yeah…thanks but no thanks.
Liezel: Fingers crossed he texts. Thanks for letting me vent.
Katie: Always.
Taylor had in fact texted the following day and things settled back down into their usual routine. Liezel was spending a Tuesday afternoon with a canceled class curled up in bed with Taylor who had demanded that she take a post-practice nap with him. Her head was on his shoulder and she looked up when he murmured her name.
“My parents are coming into town this weekend,” Taylor said softly.
“That will be nice, you haven’t seen them since Christmas. Time with them will be good,” Liezel replied softly.
“I want you to meet them.” Taylor continued.
“Yeah. Okay.” Liezel agreed, yawning slightly because Taylor was warm and comfortable and his fingers were trailing patterns over her hip making her sleepy.
*****
Liezel had almost forgotten that Taylor’s parents were coming. Between school and Katie’s latest Jerry drama, Taylor being quiet and slow to respond to messages didn’t register. It wasn’t until he showed up at her door Saturday morning that the connection was made. She had just woken up when Taylor slid into her studio, plopping onto the foot of the bed.
“We’re going to brunch. You’re coming.” He stated simply. For a moment she almost questioned who ‘we’ was but then it clicked and her eyes went wide.
“Wait…now?” She stated, caught off guard by the suddenness.
“Yeah…in like twenty minutes,” Taylor said.
Kicking him softly, Liezel scrambled out of bed and raced between her closet and bathroom trying to figure out where to even start.
“A little more warning would have been nice!” She hollered from the bathroom while trying to wrangle her hair into something manageable.
Squeezing into her bathroom, Taylor pulled her into a hug from behind and kissed her head.
“Would you take a chill pill. It’s just brunch, not a meeting with the queen.”
“No. But it’s your parents…” Liezel replied, trailing off.
“Yeah and they are excited to meet you, so chill.” Taylor insisted, rubbing down Liezel’s arms for a minute before stepping back to let her get ready. “Where is that pair of jeans you like so much?” He questioned, following her directions to retrieve them.
By the time she came out of the bathroom hair and makeup done, Taylor had grabbed not only the jeans but a sky blue sweater. Surveying the outfit, Liezel just shook her head with a smile before thanking him and grabbing the clothes along with clean underwear, a bra, and socks to get changed to go.
“Ready?” Taylor asked once it appeared like she was. With her nod in confirmation, he grabbed her phone off its charger for her and moved to the entryway sticking it in her purse. “Would you be more comfortable meeting them there or having them swing by to get us? It’s up to you.”
“Is it on the way? I don’t want them wasting gas to come over here.” The look Taylor gave her screamed ‘I can’t with you’ in a fond way and he just pulled out his phone shooting off a text.
“They’ll be here in five.”
*****
Liezel just looked at Taylor when the car pulled up to the curb and before she could even react, a woman was flinging herself out of the passenger seat and wrapping her in a tight hug right there on the curb.
“The pictures Taylor showed us didn’t do you justice. Oh, it’s so nice to finally meet you.” The woman, Liezel assumed was Taylor’s mother, Laura, exclaimed.
“It’s nice to meet you as well,” Liezel said softly, laughing to herself when the driver declared for Laura to let her go and get in the car out of the cold.
Sliding into the backseat beside Taylor and watching him fold his long limbs into the car, Liezel let him make official introductions, both Laura and Gary insisting she use their first names and not Mr. and Mrs. Makar.
The ride to the restaurant was mostly quiet, Laura just asking if Liezel had grown up locally and what that had been like.
Once they were seated and had drinks, conversation picked up a bit more, Gary asking about her major and Taylor having to interrupt before they went way down the rabbit hole there. Laura thanked her for making sure that Taylor had some home-cooked meals and didn’t always have to rely on the dining hall. Liezel teased that it was even because Taylor frequently brought her food from the dining halls on nights where she had late classes and was of no mind to cook.
As breakfast progressed, Liezel pried for cute stories about when Taylor was younger and laughed at his expense with all the ones that Laura and Gary provided her. She found herself more intrigued at the stories of Taylor and Cale and how their brotherly dynamic had grown over the years. Being an only child it was something that she sometimes envied.
When Laura complimented the ring she wore on her middle finger, Liezel explained that it had been her grandmother’s and things turned morose for a minute as Laura nodded in understanding, mentioning that Taylor and Cale had lost all but their paternal grandmother. Taylor ensured, however, that things didn’t stay heavy for long and soon Liezel was shaking her head at him and laughing as Laura scolded him for something he said.
By the time they dropped her back off at her apartment, having refused to let her pay for her share of brunch, Liezel understood even more why Taylor was as great as he was. He came from a pretty amazing family. Laura insisted on giving her another hug and Liezel murmured softly that she had done an amazing job raising Taylor and she was lucky he ended up in her life. Both Gary and Laura insisted that if she was okay with it they would have Taylor give them her number, Gary to talk psychology, and Laura to be able to check in on Taylor every now and then, and her as well of course.
Telling them to enjoy the rest of their weekend with Taylor, Liezel disappeared into her apartment building leaving Taylor with his parents once more.
“She’s lovely.” Laura declared. “Are you sure there isn’t any romantic interest there?”
“Mom,” Taylor said, just rolling his eyes.
“I know I know, you’re just friends.” Laura backpedaled. “But you can see why everyone thinks you could be dating right?”
Gary scoffed and laughed from the driver’s seat echoing that his wife had a point.
“Just friends,” Taylor repeated. “But I told you months ago I met the woman Cale is going to marry.”
Laura’s eyes went wide and a look of surprise and interest crossed her face.
“Not going to tell me to stay out of my brother’s love life now are you?” He stated, smirking because now that his parents had met Liezel he knew that they too saw just how perfect she could be for Cale. How she could fit with his brother even more perfectly than she did with him.
Now Taylor just had to figure out how to make that happen.

Hi! Welcome to me posting another multi-chapter when I have a bunch I should be working on before I posted this. But oh well! This has been my highly asked about WIP on Tumblr and I'm so excited to share it with you all even if it's only the first chapter. I hope you all enjoy it and maybe let me know what you all thought of it Summary: Was someone still your step-sibling even though your parents were no longer married? Sarah pondered that question as the bus carried her back to Chicago. Or snapshots of Kelly's and Sarah's relationship throughout the years of Sarah's medical school.
Word Count: 1.8k
Warnings: None that I can see?
Read on AO3 | My Playlist for This Fic Was someone still your step-sibling even though your parents were no longer married? Sarah pondered that question as the greyhound bus carried her the way back to Chicago. With everything she and Kelly had been through together though, was she really questioning if a simple piece of paper made Kelly her brother? Kelly had said he’d meet her at the station. It felt weird, being back in the city. Northwestern was a really good medical school though plus her brother (Question of whether or not he was still her brother notwithstanding) was in Chicago. Which would make it the most family she would have around her in years. Going to NYU for college was meant to bring her and her mother closer with Sarah and Andrea sharing the same geological landscape for the first time in years. Instead, Sarah only got a few short phone calls throughout the years (usually on holidays) and a check once a month like clockwork. She didn’t even come to Sarah’s college graduation. (Should she have been surprised? Probably not. She didn’t even make it to her high school graduation. Though it still stung) Kelly had been there though, through everything.
Even when their parents had broken up. They still called at least once a month, if not more often than that. They still sent each other birthday presents. He still made holiday plans with her, even if he was on shift. She just made the trip to Chicago, like she was doing now. (“Because Christmas and Thanksgiving are a family time, Sarah. And we both know that neither one of us is spending it with our parents and I want to spend some time with my little sister, okay?”) He still showed up at her high school graduation, despite the news of their parents splitting up and pending divorce, cheering the loudest out of the family section and more recently to her college graduation. He and Andy Darden even took a weekend off to help her move into NYU. Kelly had always been there for her. Ever since that fateful day he had come back for his catcher’s mitt.
Kelly had made his way up the steps of his father’s home, not even bothering to knock, instead, he chose to use his key. Because in his father’s words, “We are still a family Kelly, it just looks a little different now.”
Kelly had scoffed because his father had effectively ruined their family when not only had his father slept with one of his teachers, but also drove his mother to a mental breakdown. The door slammed behind him and he heard a muffled yelp. Turning his head, he saw Sarah-Andrea’s daughter, crouched under the kitchen table, trying to hide behind one of the chairs.
“Hey, Sarah, it’s just me. Kelly, remember?” He crouched down so she could see him. His palms were open so she could see he meant no harm.
“Oh…” the little girl said slowly as she extracted herself from her spot under the table, “Hi Kelly.”
“Hi,” he said again before he glanced around. The television was on but other than that, the house was silent. Like there was no one else in the house but them. He looked at his new step-sister, “You here by yourself? Where are our parents?”
Because the last time they talked, his dad had said he and Andrea had taken a month of furlough before he retired. Kelly didn’t know what kind of hours his new step-mom worked, but Benny at least should be around.
“Their honeymoon.”
“Their honeymoon,” Kelly said the words in the form of a question, and Sarah nodded, “How long have they been gone?”
“Close to three weeks,” Sarah mumbled shifting on her feet as she looked down at the floor. He must’ve heard her wrong. Because he thought she said three weeks.
“Three weeks. They left you alone for three weeks...” Kelly repeated the words out of shock. He turned back to look at Sarah as she shook her head.
“It’s okay though Kelly, I’m okay. I didn’t see my mom all that much, to begin with. I usually have a nanny though. But Mom said I was getting too old for a nanny. Said I could stay by myself.”
Kelly felt his blood boil with anger. A ten-year-old girl alone in Chicago. Like that wasn’t a disaster waiting to happen. He turned back to look at Sarah, “What have you been doing for food? How have you been getting to school?”
“I’ve been ordering a pizza each week with the money they’ve been sending back and I’ve been taking the bus most days. Some days I walk.”
Kelly tensed up. What kind of parents just left their kid...Actually, Benny he got. After his mother had her breakdown and checked herself into a mental hospital, Benny had been content to let Kelly move in with the Sextons, rather than stepping up. But he thought Andrea Reese had a better head on her than Benny did.
“Go upstairs and get your shoes on. We’re getting something different for dinner tonight.” Really he just wanted her out of the room before he called his father and Andrea.
“We?” Sarah questioned uncertainty.
“Yeah. There’s something I want to talk to you about, okay? Now, go.” He told her as he started to make a list of the things he needed to do. Call Benny and Andrea, get Sarah dinner, go to the Sextons’ and get his stuff. Sarah studied him for a moment before she ran up the steps.
The bus pulled to a slow stop and Sarah stood, making her way off the large vehicle. She waded her way through the crowd to get the one suitcase she had brought with her. Everything else had been sent ahead of her arrival in the last two weeks. Once her suitcase was in her hand, she made her way into the station, shivering as the New York winter fell off of her and the Chicago wind took its place.
“Hey! Sarah!” She heard two voices call and she turned her head to see both Kelly and his roommate-Leslie Shay across the crowd, waving to get her attention. A grin lit her lips as she made her way to them. Unsurprisingly, it was Shay who hugged her first.
“You must be exhausted,” the blonde woman said in her ear before she pulled away to glare at Sarah’s older brother, “I told you we should’ve driven up to get her.”
“I told her we would. I even told her you made a road trip playlist. She still said no,”
“Sarah!”
“You two work twenty-four-hour shifts. I didn’t want to mess with your schedule.” Kelly’s arms replaced Shay’s and just like that, she was ten years old again. She was home.
“Please,” Shay said as Kelly squeezed her tight, pressing a kiss on her head, “If Boden knew we were bringing you home, he would’ve given us the time off.”
“Have you eaten dinner yet? Are you hungry?” Sarah hid her smile as the trio made their way back out into the cold winter of Chicago. She had only been in Chicago for five minutes and her big brother was already fussing over her as he had been for the last twelve years. The trio made their way out of the station as Kelly told her Andy and Heather had wanted to come and pick her up too, but Ben had gotten a stomach virus at school.
After dinner, which neither of them let her pay for, they reached their apartment and Kelly led the way to his room. Because he wasn’t going to let her sleep on the couch, despite her protests that she would be fine with it.
“Seriously, Kelly just give me a blanket and a pillow, and I’ll be fine.” She said. Her big brother rolled his eyes, “Yeah, no. I’ve slept on that couch. It’s not comfortable at all.”
“And yet, you’re fighting to sleep on it?” Sarah retorted.
“I’m fighting so you don’t sleep on it.” Kelly shot back. “You’re coming to the firehouse tomorrow right? Before you go and register for classes? The whole house is excited to see you.”
“I’ll have to see if I have time. I’ll look at the bus schedule tomorrow and let you know before you and Shay leave.”
“Why are you taking the bus? Just borrow my car. I’ll drive me and Shay to work tomorrow. You can come with us. Visit the firehouse and then you can do whatever you need to on your time.”
“You just want to see if Andy will tell the story of the time he taught me to drive.” She accused him with a mild glare. Kelly grinned at her, not even looking the slightest bit guilty. “It’s a good story.”
“It’s embarrassing,” Sarah corrected. Her big brother huffed a laugh before he moved forward and wrapped her in another hug. His third one for the night and she had only been in the city for four hours. “It’s good to have you back home, sis.”
Sarah patted his back, a soft smile lighting up her features as she spoke. Her words came out muffled because her face was in his shoulder though. “It’s good to be back. Chicago has always felt more like home than New York ever did. Which is weird because I grew up there.”
“Home doesn’t mean the place where you grew up. It’s a place where you feel safe and loved. We both know that isn’t my Dad or your Mom. They’re not the family type.” Her big brother said gently, squeezing her tightly as if that would negate the truth in his words.
Ever the protector, Kelly Severide.
“It’s a good thing we have each other then. Isn’t it? And that you have the firehouse,” Sarah pulled back and gave Kelly a rueful smile.
“It’s a good thing we have the firehouse and that you’re back home, where you belong.” Kelly corrected her firmly. And it was true, Sarah could walk into firehouse 51 and if Kelly wasn’t there, she knew a whole lot of people who would. (She had slept enough on the Herman family couch while she was in high school so Cindy Herman could take her to school while Kelly was on shift enough to know that. And that was just one example. Sarah had a dozen more she could list.) But was Chicago where she belonged? It was true the windy city always felt more…everything than the big apple. But did that make it home?
“Sarah? You okay?”
Sarah shook her head. Faking a yawn she said, “Yeah, I think I’m just tried. You know how that trip can be and I don’t sleep very well on the bus.”
Kelly eyed her, but let it go as he kissed her forehead and took a step back. “I should probably get some sleep too. Being on shift tomorrow. Night Sarah and welcome home.”
“Night Kelly.”

Oh boy let's go boys
Warnings: violence, blood, angst, Klaus being Klaus
Pairings: Mikaelson family x M!Reader
Y/N was a bit annoyed when his family left and as much as he wanted to shift and go for a run when there was tug. Y/N raised his head remembering want Alias taught him.
'The tug is someone calling out for help. Focus on it and it'll lead you to who called for you.'
You stood feeling it turn from a tug to a pull then a cry for help. Y/N was quick to shift to run to where he was needed and noticed his family was following but shook it off as he had a job to do. They were surprised to see Y/N turn into a black hound bigger than a wolf faster too.
"You think the family will do what we need them to do?"
"If they want the kid." Y/N narrowed his eyes at the vampires and got to work. First he found the child crying in a room not hurt just scared. The Mikaelson were surprised with how easy Y/N killed the vampires. There was screams and growls, while Y/N got hurt but the vampires where off worst.
"Hello there little guy." Y/N spoke softly as the child looked at Y/N scared but Y/N got on his knees smiling softly.
"It's okay I'm to save you." Y/N said softly holding his hand out as the little boy. The boy let Y/N picked him up as the boy seemed fascinated with his skin how it wasn't burning the boy.
"Let's get ya home yeah?" Y/N says smiling gently walking out of the building as the boy was still in awe with Y/N's skin.
"Mommy!"
"Johnny! Oh baby, how did you?" Johnny's mother asked as the boy's father step up happy to see his son.
"The glowy man saved me." Johnny said pointing to find Y/N gone leaving his parents confused but happy to have johnny back.
"Thank you." Johnny's father said out to the woods as if he knew Y/N was listening and Y/N felt his chest fill with pride then headed home. Y/N rolled his eyes seeing Klaus on his door step with Hayley and Elijah.
"You shouldn't have done that."
"What save a child?"
"Those vampires could have killed you." Klaus said watching Y/N who turned angry and Elijah was quick to stand worried as he saw the anger in Y/N's eyes.
"Oh so now you care! Guess what Klaus I don't need you to worry about me."
"You are my son! I don't think you should be risking your life like that." Klaus tells the teen making him growl lowly eyes flashing red as Elijah stepped close.
"No you are not! Because a real father wouldn't favor one child over the other."
"And for that I am sorry but you should come home."
"No. Why would I go where I am only wanted now that I have awakened my abilities." Y/N said as Hayley looked to Elijah feeling bad as she wanted to hold her little boy again.
"So you are abandoning your family?" Klaus questioned this set Y/N off as he surprised his uncle and mother by throwing Klaus off the cabin porch.
"YOU ABANDONED ME FIRST!" Y/N growled eyes glowing red as anger flowed though him Hayley moved to see if Klaus was okay while Elijah stepped between them seeing a Klaus's anger fill the boy's eyes.
"You always said you didn't wanted be like Mikael. Shame you abandon your child like him." Y/N said calmly walking inside slamming the door as Klaus looked broken and before Elijah could say a word Klaus left. Since that day Klaus stayed in his studio which worried the family so Hope went to see her brother.
"What did you do to dad?" Hope asked her blue eyes narrowing at her older twin who was meditating in front of a fire.
"I'm not sorry for what I said." Y/N said not opening his eyes as Hope crossed her arms angry with her brother.
"We apologized for what happened. Why can't you forgive him?"
"Hope, do you know it is like to grow up idolizing someone who thought was a hero? To be loved by a family that would be willing to go to war to protect you? Then it suddenly is all ripped away?" Y/N tells her glaring at his sister.
"No but they are trying to mend things."
"Right. Look Hope I don't care about their apologies or how they plan to fix it because this isn't something that a sorry could fix."
After Hope's visit Elijah cam to see his nephew seeing him drawing and how amazing he was at it. Y/N didn't bother to look up as Elijah stood next to you.
"Here to get me to come home?"
"No, you are your father's son....I learned when you were three it was best to give you space." Elijah tells him as he looked up at his uncle seeing the Original looking out at the lake as a comfortable silence fell over them. Klaus caught their attention as he walked up.
"You were right and I understand that you wish to not come home. But I will be here waiting when you feel you need me again."
"We are giving you space please take all the time you need." Elijah says following Klaus as Y/N blinked watching them go. It would take time for Y/N to forgive his family but they were taking a step in the right direction. The relationship wasn't prefect but it was healing as Y/N decided to spend Christmas with his family that year and let Hope help him on his missions. Klaus's only hope was to here Y/N call him dad again but would a story for another day.

Trust In Me ~ PJM [Request]
WORD COUNT: 3.2K
PAIRING: Jimin x reader
GENRE: established-relationship, angst, fluffy ending, mentions of family and being raised by grandparents instead of mother
As you walked down the staircase of your house you placed earrings into your ears, calling out for Jimin to come out.
"Jimin, we're going to be late if we don't leave right now." You cried out as you walked into the living room to find him standing there in his practice clothes. Frowning at him you looked him up at down, today was supposed to be the day he had managed to get off work.
"I thought you got the day off," You whined slipping your shoes on as you looked at him. Jimin felt his stomach begin to churn as he looked at you and lied. Right to your face.
"I got called in again."
"But it's my Grandmothers 90th birthday...We were going to the meal." You reminded him, he had promised you weeks ago that he had gotten the day off and was going to be there.
"I got busy Y/n, I'm sorry." he walked towards you but you ignored his attempt at a hug. All it seemed as of late was that he was busy. Hardly home, always out until late hours of the morning and when he was home he was acting odd. Jittery whenever you asked him how his day had been, on edge whenever you told him that you were going to clean up the house. It felt as though he was hiding something. But you and Jimin had been together for almost 6 years, there was no way he would do something stupid.
That you knew of.
"I know baby, I'll make it up to you," He promised as he attempted to reach for you but you moved away from him. Grabbing your bag and looking around for your car keys.
"You've been saying that for weeks Jimin" You knew you were probably overreacting. You knew what his lifestyle was like. You had been living it for the last six years but that didn't make it easier.
"I'll make sure Seojun is following you." He told you as he looked outside. The world knew about your relationship which meant you travelled almost everywhere with a personal guard. Seojun was there to make sure you weren't trampled by paparazzi or Sassengs in the street. There wasn't anyone out there right now but he knew it wouldn't be long until someone was around.
"Thanks." You mumbled turning to leave when he took your hand in his, pulling you closer to him so that you were chest to chest with one another.
"You can't forget this." He placed a gift bag into your hand. The present you had gotten for Grandmas birthday. Something that the two of you had been planning on giving her for almost nine months.
"This is from both of us. I can't give it to her without you." You looked into the bag at the wrapped-up box and Jimin sighed.
"She'll know I'm sorry." Without a word to him, you walked out of the house with the bag. Climbing into the car more pissed off than ever that Jimin would leave you to go to a function like this alone.
Jimin stood watching you leave and biting down on his lip. It was never his intention to hurt you but this was something he had to do in secrecy. Grabbing his phone scrolling through until he found the name, "Seojun 2" and pressed the call.
"Can you meet me at the house?" He questioned as soon as the other line picked up.
"Sure. Shall I order pizza for when we're done?" An excited female voice asked as she got happy to hear Jimin calling her so early in the morning.
"Of course how could I ever say no when you get so excited like this?" He chuckled grabbing his bag and keys before heading out to his own car. Throwing a bag into the boot before climbing into the front seat,
"Make sure you bring protection this time, I'm not having a repeat of last time. We got in such a mess!" She grumbled at him as she began to think back on all of their times together.
"It wasn't my fault we were in the mess." Jimin scoffed as he began to start up the car and put his phone onto the stand,
"I think you'll find that it was your fault. You're so messy," She complained,
"I never hear you complain until the next time we see each other. I'll see you soon. Make sure you're ready, I want to start right away." He laughed before getting ready to end the phone call,
"So eager Mr Park."
"Only for you." He teased playfully. Hanging up and beginning his slow drive.
"Happy birthday Grandma," You whispered as you walked into the small restaurant your family was hosting in. A small family-run restaurant that had been in the mall for almost 12 years. Your whole family had been going there for years, your grandmother insisting that it was the only restaurant she would ever eat inside of.
"Thank you, dear," She looked behind you and you knew what she was looking for. Grandma happened to be Jimin's number one fan.
"He couldn't make it." You whispered as you put the gift bag down onto the table of other gifts and looked back at Granny who seemed to be upset.
"Why?"
"Because he had other things to do." You shrugged it off giving her a quick peck on the cheek before going to find you both a drink.
The truth was you had no idea where Jimin was. It seemed that he was always busy lately and it was beginning to bother you. You had no idea what he was so busy with. There was no comeback coming up and they weren't filming any dancing videos for their channel.
"Your grandfather used to get like that whenever he was hiding something." Your mother's voice sounded from beside you. Anger boiled up inside of you as soon as she felt the need to insert herself in your business when she was never really much of a mother anyway. Not to you at least.
"He isn't hiding anything." You hissed at your mother. She'd never liked you and Jimin together. She never liked you with anybody now that you came to think about it.
"All I'm saying is, he's a very handsome young man. He could have anybody he wanted." She smirked at you, you knew what she was thinking. The moment you had bought him to meet your grandmother your mother had begun flirting with Jimin. Doing anything she could to get his eyes on her.
"Thanks, mum." You grumbled sarcastically before walking away to go and join your grandmother who was opening her gifts. Your brother begging to go first as she picked up an envelope.
"That one's from me!" Your brother yelled excited as your grandmother began to tear it open, frowning and staring over at him as she slowly pulled out what was inside.
"Retirement home flyers?!" You cried out looking from the flyers and back to him as he nodded his head clearly proud at what he had gotten her.
"Granny needs somewhere she can live," Granny wasted no time in rolling the papers up and smacking him with them playfully until he pulled out a small box.
"This is your real one," He whined as he gave her the box. She pulled it open,
"It's Granddads old medals. I had them polished and cleaned." She began to tear up before hugging him tightly. Practically making his eyes pop out from his head as she thanked him over and over again.
"Mine next," You whispered pushing the box towards her. Something you had been keeping quiet for months, scared in case she hated it.
"It's from me and Jimin,"
"Who isn't here," Your mother laughed before your brother jabbed her in the side.
"Shut up and sit down. I don't see you with a date either." Grandma shut her up, taking the box from you carefully and smiling up at you.
Pulling the box open she began to tear up once again, tears beginning to roll down her face as she saw the snowglobe sitting there.
"A snowglobe for your collection," You smiled as you picked it up to show her that there was a small model of her old home. The one you had spent most of your life growing up inside of.
"Y/n how did you do this?" Your brother gasped as he moved closer to get a better look at the house. It was almost an exact replica, all it was missing was the porch swings.
"I found someone online who can make custom globes, Jimin and I went to the old house we got pictures." You explained as you shook the snowglobe for your grandmother.
"It's still standing?" She gasped looking up at you with widened eyes.
"Barely. It was practically withering away while we were there but the artist managed to capture everything it used to look like." You smiled remembering the day you took Jimin. It was almost 9 months ago, the two of you went for a road trip to go and find it, You'd almost cried seeing it so dishevelled and abandoned. The inside was terrible with broken glass on the floor, burnt flooring. The inside joinery was exposed and all of the wiring and copper had been stolen. You and Jimin had sat together for a few hours talking about how much the place meant to you and how much you wished you could have saved it.
"This is amazing, thank you." She left a giant kiss on your cheek and you smiled as she began shaking it and showing it off to anyone that was looking at her. Like a child on Christmas.
"I'm glad you like it, I'll text Jimin." You smiled before going to go and find a drink which you had intended to do before.
Sitting by the window you looked out at the people that were doing their shopping. The party seemed to be dragging by slowly since Jimin wasn't with you to help lighten the mood up a little.
"You're daydreaming." Grandma laughed as she fed you some more mozzarella sticks. Practically piling your plate higher each time. She claimed that you never ate enough when she was around and would always give you more food than you could possibly ever handle.
"Sorry, are you enjoying your birthday?" You questioned as you looked at her, she nodded her head. The whole family seemed to have spoiled her, which she truly deserved for everything she had done in her lifetime.
"It's been fun besides your mother, I swear she thinks I'm suddenly going to drop down dead." Your mother had been questioning her about the will all day. It came as no surprise that she only came around sniffing for money.
"Nope, you're going to live until 190," You teased as she shook her head at you. Taking your hands in hers and squeezing them softly making you look at her as she took on a serious look.
"You were always my favourite." You shook your head and scoffed at her,
"Granny..." You said slowly hoping that no one around you was listening to the conversation.
"I'm serious...When I do go everything will be going to you Including the silver. Make sure you hide that from your auntie Gina." She grumbled looking over at Gina who was eyeing up some of the gifts at the table. She was always sly about it but things magically disappeared whenever she was around.
"What about mum?"
"What about her? She gets nothing." You sighed before looking back out of the window. Your grandmother had practically raised you in that old house while your mother did nothing but party and not come home until 4 am only to sleep until 4 pm and start all over again.
"What about my brother-" You stopped yourself from speaking when you caught a glimpse of someone in the distance. It looked like Jimin.
"He gets to have Grandpas stuff, he always loved to look at it." You nodded as you continued to look over at the couple walking around together. Arms linked and ice cream in their hands. It couldn't have been Jimin.
Could it?
"I'm going to get some air," You whispered as you excused yourself from the restaurant and headed out of the door. Keeping your head down just in case it was Jimin.
"What are we doing?" Seojun asked as he finished off the slice of cake he was chewing. The family had been feeding him mass amounts of food since he had been standing by the door for most of the duration of the party.
"Going to see if that's Jimin," You whispered looking up at him as you pointed over near a shop. It was like his whole demeanour changed as he stared over in the direction you had pointed in.
"Seojun?" You questioned when you noticed how weird he seemed to be.
"It's not him." He mumbled,
"You barely even looked."
"It's not him." He told you again as he tried to usher you back to the restaurant but you got out of his grasp.
"I'll go over there myself and see-" You didn't need to go over yourself, the girl began laughing loudly and you turned to look. Jimin was standing there, the small tattoo on his left wrist a giveaway that it was him. The date of your anniversary was tattooed there.
"Y/n! We have more cake!" Your grandmother yelled from the door but you felt too sick to move. Everything was still going over in your head. Did you confront him now or later?
"You should do this later Miss Y/l/n, you don't want to ruin the party," Seojun whispered as he began to pull you into the house. Frantically texting Jimin to alert him that you had seen him out with another woman. The other woman he had been hiding from you.
When Jimin walked through the door that night he expected you to be asleep. That maybe you had calmed down from everything you had seen earlier but he couldn't have been more wrong. You were sitting and waiting for him surrounded by cups of coffee. It was clear you had decided to wait up for a long time for him.
"Where have you been? And don't lie to me because I asked the boys." He swallowed the lump in his throat. Maybe there was a chance that he could get away with all of this.
"I was out with a friend,"
"A girl?" You questioned. Not angry that he was with someone else but angry that he felt the need to lie to you about it.
"Yes. She's just a friend." You got up and walked over to the cupboard. Pulling out an overnight bag and throwing it down onto the floor. If she was a friend then why did he have clothes packed up in a bag, looking as though he was planning to leave you?
"A friend you sleepover with at an undisclosed location?" You pulled the bag to show him everything that you had found inside of the bag.
"Y/n, it's not what it looks like." He stuttered out as you began to show him everything that was in the bag.
"So you just have spare underwear and clothes packed up for nothing?"
"It's not what you think it is, she's just a friend." He assured you trying to reach out to touch you but you backed away from him.
"If lies keep spewing from those lips then I am walking out of that door." You said coldly before kicking the bag towards him. Jimin sighed looking down at the bag and then up at you. It was time for him to come clean with you but there was no way you were going to believe him unless he showed you.
"Let me prove it...Let me show you where I've been doing, what I've been doing." You looked at him before nodding.
A quiet and agonizingly slow car ride later and you were standing at the house. The house you had grown up in.
"What are we doing here?" You questioned looking over at the house and then to Jimin who got out. The house was still falling apart except now there seemed to be a giant skip outside with rubbish inside of it.
"Follow me." He whispered not wanting to wake anyone else up on the street. It was almost 3 in the morning no one wanted to be woken up.
Following after him, you frowned as he walked into the house. Although the outside of the house was still falling apart the inside was all-new. The exposed walls were patched up, fresh paint all over the walls. Furniture in the place it had been in when you were younger. New flooring was put down to replace the burnt patches that had been left by squatters.
"I've been doing this...I wanted it to be a surprise for you but you saw me so I had to show you." He told you as he walked further into the house showing that everything was as you remembered it to be. A fireplace was put in place where your Grandmother used to sit and read you bedtime stories.
"I got everything from old images you'd shown me. Your brother gave me old photo albums so I could match everything." You were tearing up as you walked around the house. Everything looked to be exactly the same as your childhood home.
"The second floor isn't finished yet, Sooyoung and I were going to get started on it." The name of the girl he had been with, you turned to look at him.
"Sooyoung?"
"The girl you saw me with. She's Seojun's sister, she's a decorator." Your mouth formed an 'O' as you looked around at everything. Seojun had told you about his sister almost a million times but you'd never seen her before.
"Jimin this is perfect,"
"I wanted you to have everything you wanted...I know how much this place meant to you." Saying nothing you walked into his arms and hugged him tightly, kissing his chest. You couldn't believe you let your head run to the fact that he would cheat on you. Jimin would never hurt you and you knew that.
"I'm sorry I called you a liar."
"I'm sorry I hid it from you...I wanted it to be a surprise." He laughed weakly as he rubbed his hand up and down your back. Kissing the top of your head softly,
"I trust you Jimin. I really do...I was just scared. You'd been so busy and then mum said you could have whoever you wanted." He knew your mum would have something to do with the way you reacted so he shook his head. Promising you that everything was okay.
"I only want you." He whispered leaning down to kiss your lips softly. The start of the rest of your lives was going to happen in a house you had always dreamed of owning.
"This is our place?"
"It will be when we finish on the top floor. We have to way for a contractor to come out for that though." You smiled at him, kissing him once again. You were never going to get tired of kissing his perfect lips.
